what are Ottas anyway?
Ottas are a cat-like breed of mammals that live mainly underwater (fresh or salt water), in dens similar to that of beavers. Ottas are curious and sociable creatures, living in large groups called ‘romps’. A romp may have multiple dens or only one, depending on the romp’s size. They live in matriarchal societies, where the oldest female/female presenting Otta leads the romp. Ottas are mainly carnivorous, and eat fish, as well as the occasional clam or oyster.

basic facts and anatomy:
As Ottas are a mainly underwater species, they have evolved to make life underwater as easy as possible. Every Otta has a pair of translucent eyelids that protect the eyes while underwater, and have gill-like vents that filter water. Almost all Ottas have a fin on each front leg, as well as a fin on their back and a fin on their tail. These fins flare when highly emotional. They are extremely fast in water, and have waterproof fur that keeps them warm. Other traits include webbed feet and hard paw pads that protect the feet. Ottas only have claws on their front feet, and these claws can retract!

rules and general information
- this is a for fun species! adopts may be sporadic because of this.
- otta adopts can be free or paid.
- ottas cannot be resold and can be traded for other ottas, otta items or art.
- users may own unlimited ottas.
- ottas can be any gender/sexuality and may breed as long as they are not related
- bullying and harassment are strictly against the rules. please be kind!
- please do not mini-mod, instead alert a mod!
- ottas are a closed species, meaning you cannot make your own unless you have purchased or received a MYO. I do not own the concept of fish-cats, and you’re free to make your on fish-cat ocs, adopts, etc, however the lore, lines, etc belong to grassman.
- breaking a rules results in a strike, three strikes and your out. if banned you are allowed to keep your current ottas, but cannot try out for more or participate in event or breedings. you may choose to retome if you want.
- ottas cannot be co-owned.
- ottas to not have to fit into official lore, however event may have ARPG elements that require your otta to be in-world
- rules are subject to change!

artist/staff information
- artist must make at least 2 free adopts a month to be considered active
- staff can take custom commissions for any currency and sell premade adopts
- guest artists will be on trial for a month, and must make at least 3 adopts over the course of the month;; two must be standard and one can be uncommon or under
- if an artist makes many adopts in a month, they may receive reward for overwork
- artists keep whatever they make from paid adopts

2 adopts - standard MYO ticket
3-4 adopts - unlimited common MYO ticket
5-7 adopts - unlimited uncommon MYO ticket
8+ adopts - 2-rare unlimited under MYO ticket
- MYOs may be exchanged ( 2 standard -> common, 2 common -> uncommon )

mods will receive a 1-rare unlimited under MYO ticket for every 7 days of activity
