"Companions from a shifted reality." Whether you spotted a paper advertisement or had your attention grabbed by the rugged looking shop as you went about your day you now find yourself at the entrance of Signature Familiars. Not much could be seen through the front windows as the interior was kept dim, but you manage to gather that this place appears to be a pet shop of sorts. The front appeared to be almost entirely wooden with a random array of windows and stained glass that gave the building a bewildering appearance, the sign hanging intentionally crooked above the door with both the name of the place and its cryptic message scrawled across it in a simple script. Be it curiosity or the strange force that seemed to pull you in you find yourself pushing open the door and stepping into this strange building...

Terms and Conditions

If you wish to purchase or adopt from Signature Familiars you are required to read the rules in their entirety as well as agree to follow them. If you are found to be breaking the rules in any way it could result in, but is not limited to: being barred from purchasing and/or adopting anything from Signature Familiars, being banned from interacting with Signature Familiars run threads, or potentially having your familiars revoked and rehomed. Repercussions for breaking the rules will be dealt with fairly, privately, and with the appropriate people.

By purchasing from Signature Familiars you agree that you have read over and understand the rules posted here as well as read and understand the rules of the website Chicken Smoothie. The latter can be found here.

How do you get a custom?
There are two main ways to get custom familiars: 1. Pay the artist you would like to commission to create one for you, if they have their slot open, or 2. Redeem a Custom Token and have an artist take on your custom. It is also possible for an artist to choose to gift you a custom however you are not allowed to ask for a gift custom and if you are found to be begging for a custom you will be barred from receiving any customs in the future. What's the difference? Tokens are a set prize while artists get to choose their own price (within reason).

What are Custom Tokens?
Custom Tokens are a limited item that can be purchased from the Item Shop and can occasionally be earned during events. 2 Custom Tokens are guaranteed to be available every month, restocking on the first of the month in CS time and they are all first-come-first serve.

Are we allowed to store our signature familiars on TH or in a storage thread?
Yes you may! Feel free to store and/or show off your familiars wherever you want. Just remember to link back to us!


Payments
When payments are required, either for the purchase of an item or to purchase a custom, you will be required to send a trade/trade suggestion to the appropriate person. --- In the case of customs you will be require to send a trade suggestion to the artist you are requesting do your custom. Once the art is done they will send the trade back to you. PLEASE NOTE: If you do not accept that trade the ownership of your custom will be shifted to Signature Familiars and may be adopted out to someone else as a free adopt. --- In the case of making a purchase from the item shop you should send a regular trade to the current owner of Signature Familiars. The purchase will be complete as soon as the trade is accepted and your inventory will be added to/updated in the Archive.

Pricing
The pricing of a custom is decided by the artist and should be discussed with them through private messages if it is not clearly listed by their name in the Staff section. The pricing of item shop items will be clearly listed by the item you are looking to purchase.

In order to get a custom there are a few things you have to do first:
1. Check the rules and ensure you are familiar with all of them.
2. Make sure the artist you would like has an open customs slot.
3. Send a trade SUGGESTION to that artist including your entire payment. Check the payments section of Information for more information.
4. Figure out exactly what you want your Familiar to look like and be sure to fill out the form with that in mind. You may add a reference picture but please not we will not recreate someone else's art.

To redeem a custom token there are only a few differences:
1. You may not choose the artist you would like.
2. You do not have to link any form of payment, as you have already payed.
3. You may not request line edits.

Some things you need to know BEFORE getting a custom:
1. You may request an edit be made once the custom is finished, but you can only do this once and must be requested as soon as you notice the error to their design. This may only be done if there is some mistake.
2. Begging for a custom or rushing the artist working on your will result in you getting nothing at all.
3. Customs may be used for breedings but there is no guarantee that any of their mutations are passed onto their young.
4. The artist you request has to accept your request before it becomes official. If there is no requested artist then the first artist who wants it can claim it.

Before requesting a breeding their are a few things you have to do:
1. Pick a male and female familiar of the SAME SPECIES you would like to breed. There are sometimes familiars that are hermaphrodites, meaning they can count as either a male or female, however these are rare.
2. Make sure you own at least one of the familiars and have permission to breed with the other. You must show direct proof that you have permission to use someone else's familiar breeding.
3. Think about what you would like to do with any babies you don't wish to keep.
4. Check the requirements for breeding for familiar in their species section of Information.

What you should know before requesting a breeding:
1. Any artist with an open slot can claim your request, you may ask for a specific artist but anyone can still claim it.
2. You don't have to pay for a breeding request.
