“Well, you see..”
On the other side of the line, Persephone heard the other kalon describe the problem they were having - this fellow wouldn’t leave her alone, and she was adamant on making him go away no matter what it took her to do.
“So you’re sure the authorities wouldn’t do anything about it?”
“I already WENT to them, and they brushed me away! Unsurprising, really but..” A cleared throat over the phone. “So, this is the next best step, I hope.”
Persephone had given a little laugh. Most folks were referred here when they needed someone to be taken care of, and this certainly wasn’t an exception - normal fare, really.
“Well, I’m glad you called. We can certainly take care of this little.. Issue, for you. If you’re willing to come into our facility we can discuss more privately.”
“Understood. See you soon.”

It really was a dreadful house.

“It’s in there, mister… I heard it just this morning,” said an old voice, the words coming out more like breaths of air than actual sounds. The speaker was slim and frail with one bony hand pointing toward the obviously rundown building. Paint had peeled off the sides exposing rotting wood. The foundation creaked as another shutter fell off a side window.

Lovely.

Jinseraz raised amused eyebrows at the old fellow and shrugged. “I’m sure, this is exactly their kind of establishment.”

The younger male pulled long strands of purple ombre hair up and tied it messily into a ponytail, the mass wrapping like vines down his head, almost a sheer contrast of his neatly kempt and fanciful attire. “I’m glad you called actually,” Jin said as he whipped out an intricately carved golden crossbow and began loading a glowing blue arrow, “my day was almost uneventful.” With the snap of it sliding into place, he gave the old man a wink and started into the structure that was once called a house.

Before he entered, he looked over his shoulder one last time with a cocky smirk. “I love a good demon hunt.”

Pan knew she was in deep trouble. This was not an optimal situation; discovered by the authorities at their base of operations, Pan had only narrowly avoided being caught as they all ran in different directions. Alone without her ragtag crew she called family or their base of operations, she had no idea were they were or if they were safe or not. Surely, being alone would mean she would be caught as well, unless..?

The three minutes she spent waiting for the other to pick up was tense and truthfully she didn’t want anything to do with them. She almost wished they wouldn’t pick up, but this was her only option of escape.

“Hello Pan, is this about the favor I owe you?” Their voice, formal yet mocking echoed in her ears.

“Yes, unfortunately. After this I’m never talking to you again, you hear that?!” Pan retorted.

“And here I thought that you didn’t need help, but certainly I’m glad you called my friend. It’s been a while hasn’t it?” They said, as Pan felt chills down her spine. “You don’t have much of a choice, do you?”

“Fine. Do your sketchy thing” Pan sighed. “I don’t like you.”

It's been 2 months since she left. I don't blame her, I mean she has her whole life ahead of her... unlike me. Yet here I am, digging hole for my indefinite demise. What am I doing with my life...

"ANGORA!" said her boss as he stood right in front of her, scowling. She jumped in her chair, snapping back to reality.
"That's the fifth time this month. I gave you a FINAL warning last time you zoned out on the job. You know what the means, don't you?"
"Please! Don't fire me, I need this job! I'll do anything sir, anyth-"
"You're fired. Now get out!"
Tears filled Angora's eyes. She collected her things, and left the building. Now what? I don't have a job, I have bills, and if I don't catch up on rent I'll be evicted. My life is falling apart. Angora sighed, and went home.
Her home was a mess, boxes everywhere, and no real furniture. She sat down on her futon and cried.
How did I get here? When did I become so miserable..

It was her phone. She picked it up.
