Murmurs swept through the clan as Smokewhisk told everyone Webmeadow's true sexuality without her permission. Webmeadow, earlier that day and for the past few weeks, had declined his invitations to go on a hunt or date with him although he wasn't used to not getting his ways with she-cats. Smokewhisk continued insisting as if he never understood the word, "NO!" Which Webmeadow politely told him more than once in the past week alone. Webmeadow left for patrol that morning and when she was treading back with Peachcrown, Cherrybounce, and Poppypebble, her crush, Rabbitbloom confronted her.

Apparently, while she was gone her annoying stalker decided he had had enough of her saying no despite her clearly not being interested. He outed her to the entire clan despite him being trusted with her sexuality secret. She never told anyone other than Smokewhisk and had foolishly trusted him with her secret. Webmeadow, back to real-time, was shocked and shivering with embarrassment although Rabbitbloom didn't seem to have a mean intention. Webmeadow stuttered in retort, "It's a lie, I'm not a pan." She avoided her gaze, horrible and scared at lying to her true best friend and love interest. Rabbitbloom chuckled softly and touched her nose to Webmeadow's, whispering softly,

"It's nothing to be ashamed of, love." Webmeadow was intrigued and stared into her lover's eyes with a soft, unwelcome smile. "I love you just the way you are." Rabbitbloom licked Webmeadow's cheek and the girls that were on the patrol cheered. That day they were welcomed back with cheers and a sulking, bitter Smokewhisk.

opal's glimmer paced back and forth, visibly nervous. it had thought about it for so long... but it'd decided it was time. oh, what a foolish decision on its part - why did it think it'd make things better? where there once had been a garish orange collar now laid a pile of shreds. it thought that maybe, just maybe, pigeon's talon would be happier with that old thing gone. after all, don't upwalkers usually treat their kittypets badly? why would he want to keep such a grim reminder of his past around, then?
that's what it thought... until a few seconds after the fact. the collar was soft like bird feathers, and didn't feel half as uncomfortable as it looked. the metallic thing it was attached to was unlike anything it'd seen before - a custom one made just for him, perhaps? opal's glimmer could tell it held love winthin, just as the rest of the trinket. but now? now, the it was gone... all thanks to the pale-furred bandit.
panicking, the cat tossed the remains into the rapids and watched them float downstream, never to be seen again. it sat down and shed a tear. what would happen when pigeon's talon found out? it doubted he'd want to stick around for long.

speak of the ancients, the odd-eyed cat was already there. "have you seen my... y'know, thing?" he asked in a hushed yet panicking tone.

opal's glimmer took a deep breath. "no, not really. have you checked your nest?"

after pigeon's talon dashed back to headquarters, the pale-furred tabby looked up to the night sky. "i thought you wouldn't miss it... i'm sorry."
