The first one is obvious, she was named after these fiery flowers! Seeing them reminds her that her flame wont be burned out. The passion in her soul. The determination to never give up. The characteristics of the marigolds match her personality, which is why she was named Marigold!

Dahlias on the other hand represent her sister. The cat that's calm, trusting, cautious and patient. Her bright outside, and her deep and serene soul. Her sisters name is Dahlia, to no surprise. In order to maintain her memory while her sister travels the world for exotic plants, she started a garden of dahlias.

Prompt: As a medicine cat, you'd expect her to specialize in herbs - and she does grow quite a few of those - but her favorite type of plant, and the type that fills most of her garden, are carnivorous plants. Venus flycatchers, pitcher plants, cape sundews; all sizes and colors and she meticulously hunts bugs to feed to them, in between all of her medical duties of course... Or, that's what she says anyway. Walking through her garden and seeing fragrant herbs beside and woven into bright, beautifully dangerous meat-eaters is quite the experience!

Flour loves to bound outside when her Twoleg lets her out. The warm sunshine fills her up with happy energy. Recently, the cat has started a mini garden. She's always wanted one as a kitten, and she's spent enough time studying her Twoleg's, so why not give it a go? Flour waddles around, legs lifting up awkward angles as she hunts for plants to force into obedience.

After a couple of minutes, she finds catmint, her favorite! Angling her head, Flour grabs the plant at its base and yanks it up. Having already decided where to put the garden, she began digging next to the Twoleg's round puddle. She was never quite sure why they had this big round puddle, but Flour assumed they enjoyed pretending to be fish and swim around in it. This was very normal Twoleg behavior, as many new ones came to enjoy the fish life as well. Anyway, her hole was complete, she plopped in the plant and covered the hole back up, plant and all. She searched more and ultimately got a stalk of garlic-smelled stems, a few bright marigolds, and some clovers. Clovers are not weeds in Flour's opinion. Just plants that are misunderstood. As the sun was dipping down, she had planted all of her treasures in the dirt and set about covering up the last bits of green poking out. "This will surely work!"

A couple of weeks later, Flour is still tending to her garden. She dips her jaws into the puddle and carries the gross water to her garden and spits it out. The plants haven't sprouted up yet, but she's sure they just need more time! In an indecisive mood, however, Flour uncovered one of the marigolds and found it was shriveled and brown. She shrugged and covered it back up, thinking this was how plants were supposed to grow.

Backstory;
Nettleberry was abandoned as a kit and later found by her now family; LarchStar and Dogwood. As a young apprentice, Nettleberry had always had a keen interest in plants. All of the colors, textures, and smells captured her attention and she could learn about them all day. Sometimes she’d sneak away from camp to follow Dogwood when he’d go out to tend to the herbs. She was so fascinated with how gentle and careful you had to be with the plants that it inspired herself to create her own little oasis. Now as the clans first actual medicine cat she was able to move a quaint little garden within the camps walls. She tends to it every day and treats it as her own litter of kits!

How’s it look?
Within the camp there is a lonely little hollow at the bottom of the Ancient oak tree. Ages ago it’s said to have been a hidden pond but since then now dried has became the medicine cat den. As you enter you realize it’s not so empty and hollow as you’d had thought. The sweet smell of honey hits your nose. As you look to your left there’s an extended hole that leads off from the main entrance. Smells of honey and juniper berries wafts your way. As you redirect your gaze you hear a little trickle towards the back of the hallow. As you hear a giggle a voice speaks up to say “I’m back here!” As you trot back to the second hollow you notice it’s a lot bigger then it seemed. You notice a little ray of sunshine fall in on a spot of turned dirt. Little sprouts are emerging from the dirt. Each in a perfect little row. You notice the she-cat is is dragging a round hollow tree knot fillies with water. In a muffled tone she speaks; “Hello there! Welcome to my medicine den. This is where I grow various little things. I do hope you enjoy your tour today! And I do hope you’ll join me as my apprentice if it interests you!”

Well how does it grow?
You ask the she-cat just how everything is growing within her cave. She give a soft smile and chuckle; “Well you see here when this hollow was discovered within the ancient oak, it originally was filled with water.” You take a seat closer to hear the she-cats words. “As time went on, the clan was struggling more and more. Hardship was everywhere a cat turned. Litters of kittens only blessed with one survivor. Our leader Larchstar was at her last straw with possibilities for the clan. It wasn’t until she walked with starclan within a Dream. Our ancestors mentioned of an empty hollow that would bless the clan with herbs and remedies. Soil so rich that there would never be a scare of medicine for a sick kit or injured warrior.” As the she-cat continued. Your interest is perked even more with the words of starclan. The next day the hollow was discovered empty and little sprouts were in the waters place growing with the sunlight trickling in on them.” The she cat leaned back on her heels saying the last few words “ That is how the medicine den came to be along with how we are able to keep and grow some plants within the camp!”
