crewmate or imposter?: crewmate
prompt answer: Renna is a believer, but she regrets being one because she can never fall asleep at night. Can you blame her? you would be scared too if that figure was always following you around at night

- oh they're a believer alright; they believe that the little spirits that follow them around are annoying
- bought a lovely little house just out of town, likes the seclusion, but they're most definitely not living on their own
- the place used to be a bit of an animal sanctuary, with previous owners from way back taking in an assortment of creatures. couldn't understand why the place kept being resold, it's so charming, but it didn't take long to realize. the animals loved the place so much, they never left
- shares their home with animal spirits. the cat door still moves. old feeding bowls move. odd animalistic sounds can be heard every now and then. the place is like an invisible menagerie
- honestly at this point they're super chill with it, like yeah they've got pets they can't see, so what

crewmate or imposter?: crewmate
prompt answer:
[500/500]
Veritas liked things in their order. Numbers, star charts, the inner working of her ship- things were always better, to her, when they could be clearly explained.
This meant that one thing she did not have patience for, though, was ghost stories.
They were a favorite of several of her crewmates, unfortunately- they defended it as a wonderfully creepy pastime, arguing that the knowledge of being alone in the middle of space made the chill up your spine all the more deliciously spooky.
Not to Veri. The thought of something paranormal and unexplainable, stalking a ship and striking fear into the hearts of its crew annoyed her, more than anything. Those sort of notions and superstition were precisely the kind of thing that led to mistakes- and mistakes, in their circumstances? When piloting a ship? Could prove deadly.
So no. Veri would classify herself as a skeptic through and through.
Which was why the weird skittering sound around the ship today was putting her on edge. Not that she was scared. No way. It was annoying more than anything, the echoing sort of patter that seemed to be following her around.
There had to be an explanation for this, Veri reminded herself, snorting as she made her way through the corridors of the ship.
Nevermind the fact that nobody else seemed to know what she was talking about.
Or the fact that as she passed underneath one of the hall lights, it flickered and died, casting her into shadow. That could have been completely random. Stuff like this happened, Veri reminded herself. Ships made weird sounds, lights went out and needed replacing. No need for every ghost story she'd ever tried to ignore to come parading through her head.
Fine- fine. She was scared. Unable to stop herself from tensing up, Veri picked up her pace, trying to leave that dark hallway behind her.
Casting a glance over her shoulder, she saw what looked like a little shadow flitting after her.
What. WHAT IS HAPPENING.

"Janus!"
Veri's captain pricked his ears and swiveled to face her.
"What's up, Veri?" he said amiably, grinning at her.
"Something- weird has been happening," Veri confessed.
"Yes, you already mentioned the noises."
"Not just that- the lights are going off. I think I'm being followed."
"That- oh." Inexplicably, Janus started to chuckle.
"This isn't funny," Veri insisted. "It could be a danger to the ship-" or a ghost- NO. NOT a ghost.
"It's not," Janus chuckled, beckoning with one of his paws. "Look down."
"What-" Veri glanced to see a pink spotted kit at Janus' side, looking sheepishly up at her.
"Lucas told me," Janus explained, "that he'd snuck out of his room, and wanted to see what crewmates' work looked like. He neglected to mention, however, how badly he'd scared you-"
"I wasn't scared-" Veri began, huffing. "-wait. Who exactly is this child?"
"My son," Janus replied. "Sorry again if he made you nervous-"
"You have a son!?" Veri yelped.
"Well- two, actually."
