Prompt:
Human POV: You stand there looking over all the sea lions, the thick glass of your goggles protecting your face from the icy wind. You had received a call that stated there had been a buttermilk spotted in Antarctica. You had wondered how a buttermilk could make its way to Antarctica. Had it traveled on a ship to obtain access to this forsaken icy desert? Or perhaps it swam all the way down here just to get peace? You scanned the area but still all you could see was sea lions upon sea lions. You did not want to frighten them so you slowly and quietly crept around them. You had never been surrounded by so much snow and ice and you thought the task of finding this buttermilk should be easy, right? Walking through the terrain the snow only seemed to get thicker and deeper. It wasn't your intention to go this far into the land but you needed to find that buttermilk and make sure he was okay. Your goggles started to freeze slightly and upon trying to wipe it away your foot slips on a sheet of ice and sends you down a steep hill. The wind is knocked out of you and you lay there in the snow, your heart beating frantically against your chest. Did this task really have to be this hard? You sat up and pressed your hands to your head a slight headache coming on. How would you get out of this mess? You look around slowly trying to spot any contrast in the snow. At first glance you don't and sigh deeply but as you look over the snowy mess your eyes spot a cave. Pressed into the side of the hill was a small yet large enough cave to fit at least a buttermilk or two inside. You get up and slowly walk over to the cave. Pressed against the wall was the buttermilk. You slowly walked into the cave and sat down next to the beautiful babe. You placed your hand on his head and his eyes shot open.
"Hey..its gonna be okay.." You pressed your hand into his fluffy hair trying to calm him down. He felt cold and you couldnt help but feel horrid about it.

Buttermilk POV: I laid there staring up at this thing. Its cheeks were a rosy red and thick frames pressed against its face. It was bundled in layers and for some reason I had wished it was me in those bundles. It was cold and I had no way to stay warm. I pressed my nose against its thigh, it actually smelt like a human. Why would a human be hereof all places? How did it know to find me here. I slowly sat up and it watched me carefully, it almost looked like I was going to collapse at any minute, and honestly it wasnt wrong. I felt so weak and tired. I came here with the thought that I would be able to sustain the cold, I mean I had all the blubber in general. I came here to escape it didn't feel right being where I was. Coming here seemed like a good option but I didnt know it would be deathly cold. I huffed out, a puff of smoke followed suit due to the contrast in temperatures. None of the thingies up above wanted to play and they kept coming after me so I ran. I wasnt looking where I was going but I ran as far as I could. There was a small path that rounded the hill and gave access to this great hiding place, although it was still very cold.

Months had passed sine the incident and the nice human was kind enough to take me to her farm. There had been so many changes and I was so scared but I seemed to fit in. I got a long with everyone great and it made me feel at home. I felt safe and protected. I felt unique. She always treated us differently but in the best ways possible. I enjoyed it here, it felt like a true home, like this was the very piece of my life that I was missing.
