malleable, easy, and repeated over many years. and yet one time sticks in her mind more potent than any. "We'll be okay"".

Prompt:

ciara proudly sat at the round table with the other knights with
her famous smirk plastered all over her face. she had just returned
from seeking out the holy grail which she found, but wanted to keep
that information for herself seeing as she had a plan.

"ciara, are you listening?" one of the leaders spoke out as he snapped
his fingers in her face, "grail status report?"

she jumped back in shock as her expressions immediately changed to
anger, "what about it? do you want me to lie or tell the truth?" she
smirked to herself, crossing her arms over her chest while watching
the gears turn in his head.

the other knights took glances at each other but stayed silent if they
knew what was good for them. it was amazing how ciara could talk
back and get away with it but they didn't want to take their chances.

ciara didn't enjoy the silence and truth be told it freaked her out. she
let out a sigh and leaned forward, placing her hands on the table as
her smile widened, "it wasn't there."

just like that, the meeting was over and everybody but ciara stood up.
something was off about her, though.. the knights could see it but
they couldn't quite place their finger on what it was. they just
knew that it might come back to bite them in the future.

the room was silent as she stood herself up, her heeled boots clacking
against the marble floor at each step she took.

she didn't know what was in store for her, but..

unfortunately, she wasn't worthy.
