They have seen their fair share of death. They have experienced their losses; they miss those who they have lost dearly, but they know everything that is gone will come back in some form, although it was not easy to deal with.

A game with little reward, but a game nonetheless. The cat's outlook on life may seem carefree at first but they definitely have a cynical and dark view of life. This one did not fare well in the past.

This cat has a very bleak and cynical outlook on life. It is how it is and there isn't much that you can do to change it, unless you have the power to do so. Everyone is too weak to make a change and this cat accepts that. They may be a bit irritated about it, but there isn't much they can do. They don't want to be in power and the only other option is to mindlessly follow tasks they've been given.

In the end, the cats that have more power have the say, while the lower class has to follow the orders they are given. If they do not follow, they are easily replaced by others. This song is all about that and saying that there isn't enough reward given for hard work, just as this cat thinks. But you need to just roll on and get on with it, even if it sucks away at your conscience and you have to give up your dreams.
