Name: Harietta
Companion: (170/200)
He wasn't a large bird. Not large, nor loud, nor extraordinarily unique. He was a rock wren; small, and green, and plain to the unknowing eye. His feathers shimmered in the sun, and he could blend into the treetops when he flew. He could fit into the palm of your hand, and nestle comfortably on your shoulder. His dark eyes were bright and intelligent; wise, almost. Like he knew things that others didn't, more than what a normal bird should know. But, in fairness, he was not a normal bird. Normal birds didn't speak, or remember potion ingredients, or verbal charms.
Familiars can take the shape of any animal; from cats, to wolves, to snakes, each one is born with a connection to their destined witch or wizard, and will be gifted to them upon graduation. She was presented with a little green bird, a rock wren, and felt as though strings were tying them together. Warm, tight.
Some people named their familiars.
To her, he was just little Wren.

Harietta isn't immature, per say, but it has been said with a small amount of laughter that the bird is more mature than she is. She'd always been easily distracted, sometimes a bit ditzy, and that hasn't changed from childhood to adulthood. The little Wren has proved himself to be a perfect companion, and she wouldn't be the witch she is now without him.
When training in the magical arts, there are always teachers around to offer guidance and to watch over your work. If she was ever going to make a mistake, or had forgotten a potion ingredient, there was always someone there to correct and remind. Some worried about how she would go, making it on her own, but many had faith that she would be okay. This proved true, thanks to her familiar.
His memory is like a vault, and he can remember a countless amount of potions and spells. He's a very sensible familiar, almost acting parental at times. He understands that she has trouble with concentration, and makes up games and techniques to help her remember things and stay on task. They were always going to be made for each other, and were always going to make a perfect team.
Harietta loves her little avian friend, and he loves her just as much. While some people may have gotten annoyed at her forgetfulness and clumsiness, he knows that this is just a part of her personality, and being her familiar, he's more than happy to be by her side through their magical endeavors.
