Sandpaw feels as though her den mate can get away with almost anything, pretending to be someone her isn’t and using his father’s rank in order to get to where he wants and not abiding by the rules set in the clan. This makes her have to work harder in trainings in order to prove that she is ‘just as good’ as the spoiled brat, if not better according to her mentor and many of the other clan cats.

Pigeon by Cavetown
Bushbristle as struggled with the loss of his mother to the point that
he often dissociates in a single day and can become lethargic and
withdrawn. The death having been untimely, he can't help but to feel
restless and shocked, even now, about the whole thing,as he never
really got to say goodbye. The song more or less gives off the feeling
of a sad narrator going through a mundane, everyday life, but still
being impacted by the loss of someone close to them. In the same way,
Bushbristle goes about the numb, numb and not connected to the
world while his body goes through the motions in a listless day by day
life. His mother had meant the world to him, been his only family, his
only friend, as he had always been a prickly outsider, even in his own
clan, not that he's ever tried after a certain point. Someday he might
heal, but the grieving process can be long, and he's still going through it.

the first half covers her backstory and her feelings of not fitting into her family group and leaving to try to find herself. she joins several other groups that for some reason they disband or abandon her. she blames herself for it and believes she's destined to fail anybody she involves in her life.

the second half covers her joining barrenclan. all of the cats banded together due to the hardship in their own lives. "oh, you are not useless" refers to her kind and forgiving nature to others. however, she doesn't afford herself the same luxury, she very hard on herself for own mistakes. "and still they echo me" refers to how her clan members confine in her and look for her advice regardless of how flawed she views herself. "they echo me in circles" refers to her fear of leading them to make the same mistakes she has.

more generally the song covers her feelings of being inadequate. 'ghost' referring to herself as feeling empty, without a purpose and stuck in a cycle of trying to find that purpose.

Meet Me In The Wood by Lord Huron

Kestrelpaw is never satisfied in what she has. Instead, she is always looking for more, desiring more power. She is drawn into the unknown and goes against what she is told.

During her early moons in her apprenticeship, she vanished and did not return until a few moons later. Kestrelpaw had insisted that she needed that time to herself to discover who she was and who she wanted to be. Before leaving, she would talk about the voices in her dreams, encouraging her to seek out truths and to not trust her clan. She did not like having no control so left to find this out, but she refused to talk about what happened to her while she was out travelling in the forest.

So, she is behind all her friends who are already warriors, but many of her friends struggle to talk to her. They insist she came back a different cat: one more cold and manipulative – willing to pull strings to get what she desires. Kestrelpaw is described as being distant and no longer as bubbly as she once was.

The she-cat spends her days training now, desperate to catch up with her friends so she can rise the ranks with them and help them all gain the truth they deserve from their leader.

hawkbit is just an angsty teenage boy who doesn't know how to properly display his emotions. so he just plays off being the cool guy and acts macho to hold up his conflicting feelings with masculinity. he's a big softie though, who cares about his friends and loves them very much when they're not playing rough-and-tumble and punking each other out.
