Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.

Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

forest stroll story:
lilly knelt down in the dew covered grass and delicately picked the white flower of a clover. a small smile spread across her face as she lifted the small flower to her face. with a sigh of content and happiness, she tucked the little bud into the breast pocket of her coat and stood back up. carefully, she continued her walk, dead leaves crunching softly under her rain boots. lilly took a deep breathe, inhaling the crisp, morning air mixed with last night's autumn rain. birds sang cheerfully, announcing to their friends that it was time to play.

i wonder what it would be like to be a bird, lilly pondered as she strolled along.

the young girl stretched out her arms and began to sway, pretending she was flying high in the sky with a flock of friends. a giggle escaped her mouth as she sped up, now jogging, with her arms still stretched out.

soon, she grew tired, so she came to a stop and went back to her usual slow pace. lilly looked down in her breast pocket to make sure her clover flower was still there. to her relief, it was.

forest stroll story:
It was a simple stroll deep into the neck of the woods where the trees blocked out the sun. However for her this was a special stroll, to see an old friend she hadn’t seen in forever. While Maple didn’t live too close to the forest, she enjoyed watching the wildlife that lived in it, from the deer that pranced to the chirps of the crickets. Those were always a welcome sight, but that wasn’t what she was going after right now. Maple knew the way like the back of her paw, as many times in their childhood they used to play in the creeks of the forest. She always remembered those memories fondly even while she no longer lived near and they stayed behind. There was a very good chance they were still here.

Eventually, she stood at the base of a cliff on a mountain, knowing that they would be here somewhere. Soon enough like she thought, a pair of suspicious brown eyes peeked over the cliff. However, Maple soon recognized them, and so did they. The two both ran towards each other, a welcome reunion after so many years, both of them embracing a hug...

forest stroll story: Shana could hear the birds chirping in the oak she recently passed. her mother loved talking to them, sitting down beneath the tree and gazing into the branches, not minding the small child nagging at her for food. Shana had never loved that sort of thing. Today, she had set her mind on finding a flower patch, hopefully slose to her home so she could roll in it every day. She loved the smell of flowers, sweet, kind, hopefull, and happy. she padded closer to a willow tree to see beneath the branches. the canopy of green emerged abover her, calming her instantly, but unlike when she went to flowers, this awakened all her sended, bringing her life, eyes glistening, and she layed down underneath, taking in the sight in awe. she understood this, how her mother loved sitting here, and she sat in silence until the fireflies came out.
