there's a clearing here, the grass worn thin by many pawprints. a vast crowd of cats huddles
around a pit in the centre, yowling and cheering loudly. as you approach, the crowd screams
as one, and you see a large black tom hauling a smaller cat, covered in scratches and bites,
out of the ditch. as the dark cat leaps nimbly from the hole himself, the cats around bellow
adoringly, and a pair of shecats split off from the crowd to rub themselves against his flanks.
the tomcat spots you and narrows his eyes, lightly batting the two mollies away and nearing
you. you notice, now that he's close, that he wears an orange collar adorned with silhouettes
of bats- strange, for a cat in the forest. "haven't seen you before. you're new here, huh?"
he growls, sniffing you. "i'm brutus. i run these parts. if you're lookin' for a fight, this is
where you're gonna get one- although i don't expect a stringy thing like you'll be able to."
he scoffs, bounding away- presumably to beat up someone else.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

the tom gives you a sly grin, narrowing his eyes. "you actually want to try to battle me?" he
laughs cruelly, "i thought you were just bluffing. very well, if it's a fight you want, i'll give
you one. step into the coliseum, if you think you're man enough." he lashes his tail, bound
ing gracefully away, and you hear a pained yowl from some unlucky cat a few seconds later.
