Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.
Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off, which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

Perfect Summer Day:
Despite their sunny fur and warm demeanor, Eli's favorite days were the rainy days. Not the violent, swirling thunderstorms that shook the house, nor the lightning that struck all too close to home. No, it was the comforting shade that the clouds overhead provided, the soft rumble of distant thunder that sounded akin to a great beast purring.

Eli loved nothing more than to curl up under the covers with a pet, loved one, or even a stuffed animal, to settle in for the afternoon. They had always been a sucker for cartoons, boardgames, and cuddles. Eli really did believe a good hug could solve just about any predicament... so rainy days were their favorite, laying together, wrapped up and content, they dozed off to the low rumbles of thunder and the warmth of the fat, cream tabby cat beside them. Sometimes, all you need is a day to yourself... It's ok to sit back and enjoy life on the comfy side. Eli found that too often they rushed into things, doting to and fro and always worried about what was to come next. So, the days where they were able to relax and keep to themselves mean the most to them.

To Orchid, it’s not not about what a perfect summer day looks like, it’s how it feels, how it sounds, how it smells.

Orchid is blind, but she still loves to go outside and explore. She loves the feel of rough crunchy sand under her paws. She loves the sound of birds and waves. The smell of salt. The beautiful voices of her friends cheerful chatter. The warm sun on her fur.

She often takes fun trips to the beach with her friend group. They bring snacks like watermelon, freezer pops, and pretzels. They sit in a circle and chat for a while. After that her friends love to splash around or search for shells. She prefers the shallows where she can lie in the warm sand as the waters waves occasionally wash past her. Her friends are very inclusive and bring her pretty shells to feel with her paws as they describe the colors.

After a nice relaxing morning and lunch, Orchid will explore the thinly forested hills by the edge of the beach. Despite her blindness, she has a very good spatial awareness and is usually able to find her way about. If not her friends are only a holler away. She loves to climb trees and sit in them while reading the (Braille) books she packs in her cross-shoulder bag. Near the end of the day one or two of her friends will find her in the small forest and call her back to the beach. The friends will hug and wave goodbye.

She walks home joyful at the days events, the familiar path beneath her feet. She also loves to have a cup of tea before going to bed.

Perfect summer: It's usually at the sunset when it's her favorite time and place to be. She'll invite her friends in her car and the go out to back roads with barely any trees. The windows would be rolled down with the music blaring. All her friends and herself would be laughing the night away. They always get to the house late, but it's no worries because they all crash at Syds place. Sydney is most happy then, and she's sure that all her friends are too.

Perfect Summer Day: For Hanna, the perfect day would be one with a bright sun, a cool breeze, and her friends as company. As the sun sets and the moon rises, the clouds would steer clear of the moon and give her the best view of it's light. It'd be not too hot but not too cold.

Hanna would spend this day splashing around in her backyard pool with her friends and getting absolutely drenched. She'd eat fruit and ice cream with them afterwards, and relax in the sun on pool chairs. They might take a walk around town to the library, and get some movies or video games. At night, after her friends have left, she'd take out her camera and snap some photos of the moon and surrounding scenery to edit later. She'd go to sleep feeling that she used her time well, and hoping someone will send a text to their group chat asking if they want to do it again.

Leo is very big on birthday celebrations, especially his own. During the summer, he likes to celebrate his birthday for the time that he's off school and work. In a way, he's also celebrating everyone else's birthday at the same time and he likes to think of it that way. Other than that, it's a big excuse to binge on treats and sweets every day for the summer. Leo is the opposite of the people trying to get into their "summer body". He just loves food -- especially cake.

He has a birthday cake every day, which can vary depending on how motivated he's feeling. Sometimes Leo will buy cake batter and make a special cake with extraordinary frosting, but sometimes he's lazy and buys a cake from the store. Somehow he's able to eat a cake every day all to himself. He also hasn't gained any weight from it surprisingly.
