Clover looked down at the cat bullying a small dog. She could see the dog cowering in fear as the much larger cat spat and hissed at him. She flinched at the dog yelped when the cat sent a swipe across the dog's muzzle. The cat had a smug smile and was ready to continue digging into the dog until a voice spoke up.

"Stop!"

Much to Clover's surprise, it was her own. She shook as the larger cat looked up but it didn't budge.

"Are you trying to protect this mutt? Dogs are dogs, an enemy of our kind!" The cat growled, its fur standing straight. "Dogs don't deserve to be treated nicely by us!"

Clover leaped down and stood in front of the dog protectively. She didn't remember ever telling her legs to move she just did. "No, you're wrong. We can live peacefully. Leave this poor dog alone."

The cat muttered something under its breath before hissing at Clover and the dog. Clover relaxed a bit before escorting the dog back to its own yard.

The two didn't understand each other or even know each other but still, Clover had stood up for the small dog, and he appreciated that. Clover still doesn't understand why she stood up for the dog even, but she did. Something didn't feel right about letting a cat bully a smaller creature.

Prompt: When Mooncaller and Sunflight were young apprentices, Mooncaller was a bit of a pushover. He'd let you tell him what to do, and wouldn't fight back if you yelled. It drove Sunflight up a wall because no one deserved to let themselves take that sort of treatment. It all pushed Sunpaw to a cliff where he'd have to jump off and defend his brother because no one else would.

He could hear yelling from the other side of the camp, and everyone was acting like it was normal, with the odd weirded out glance to the noise. Sunpaw growled under his breath, heart starting to race. He was always protective of his brother and this was not a new experience. Usually if there was yowling or yelling of the aggressive kind it was from the Medicine cat's den because fights were taken out of the camp and dealt with elsewhere. Sunpaw full on ran over to the den, because his patience was at its end and he was sick of this clan acting like this was okay.

When he got there, a senior warrior was snarling at Moonpaw and unknowingly cornered the apprentice into the den with no way to escape. Sunpaw let out a growl and shoved the warrior out of the way to stand beside his brother.

"You better leave him alone or else I'll get StarClan on your furry butt." Sunpaw hissed, fur rankled and blood rushing. He didn't actually know if Moonpaw could ask StarClan to bite back at this guy for Sunpaw's sake, but no one disrespected his brother like this on his watch. Where the heck was Blueheart? This was his apprentice for StarClan's sake.

"And why should I believe some apprentice? Respect your elders, child." The warrior snapped, but Sunpaw couldn't care less because respect is a two way street and it's currently blocked off.

"Rosestar won't like this. You want her to get mad at you? Or get StarClan?" Sunpaw would gladly argue this guy all day long, just to make him tire himself out and make him leave.

The warrior huffed, almost in amusement, then flattened his ears and jerked forward in a false attack movement. Sunpaw's instincts took over and he threw himself forward with his claws out. He scratched the warrior's face in a quick, harsh movement and Sunpaw let out a nasty growl because dammit you don't attack apprentices except for training, and you definitely don't disrespect your medicine cat.

"Leave," Sunpaw snarled, tense and ready to attack again, but the warrior instead turned and left. Sunpaw turned to his brother and asked, "Are you okay? Need me to tell Rosestar?"

Moonpaw shuddered and shook his head, "I.. I'll be fine."

"Just. Then just tell me if you need help okay? I'm not your brother for no reason."

"I know."

"And! I can put my training to good use."

"Good StarClan."

" And we are just going to trust her?! She's a rogue!"

Yellow-green eyes glanced in the direction of where the outcry came from. Only to settle on the small form of one of the clan's recently made apprentices. Snowpaw. Who happened to be in argument with his father, Frostsight.

" Be quiet, Snowpaw!", the older tom hissed. Clearly just as unimpressed with his son's behaviour as Firecloud was. But the young apprentice merely sent an amber glare at his father.

" No! I will not be silent! For all we know, she could have been the one who led them here!"

With a resigned sigh, the ginger and white tabby lifted himself to his paws. Before heading over towards the two, his curiosity getting the better of him. All while ignoring the stares he got from those he walked past." What's with all the shouting?", Firecloud asked.

Before Snowpaw could even utter out another word, his father had stepped in front of him. Effectively silencing him, as the older to met the gaze of the former house pet." Forgive us, Firecloud, for disturbing you, but my son here seems to think that Moonshimmer was behind the latest attack", Frostsight replied. Looking just as tired as he sounded.

Firecloud glanced down at the scowling apprentice with a look of disapproval." I see", he said lowly. Already feeling a headache coming along as he prepared for the reaction he'll get from his next words." Does he realise how hypocritical and stupid that sounds?", he added. Just like he expected, a small angry ball of mostly white fur was now stood before him.

" Big words coming from a good for nothing kittypet!", Snowpaw spat. His pupils were now barely visible amongst a sea of angry amber, as the apprentice tried to make himself look bigger than he actually was. Firecloud couldn't help but laugh at the pathetic attempt to look intimidating.

" I may be a kittypet, kit, but at least I know what respect, loyalty and honour is", Firecloud replied. A small smirk beginning to form on his face, as he lowered himself to the apprentice's height. Only for it to suddenly vanish as he became serious." Now you listen to me, you little ball of fluff! Moonshimmer has proven time and time again that she is a worthy member of this clan, and if I recall correctly, she has even saved your sorry hide more than once! So don't you DARE go around falsely accusing her of something like that again! Do you understand?!", he snarled. Watching with slightly satisfaction as the younger tom nodded nervously. With that being said, he then turned around and started heading back towards his spot.

A smile quickly appearing on his face, once he noticed that Moonshimmer was sat there in his place. The she-cat was smiling, having heard the entire conversation." Thank you for standing up for me", she said. Firecloud just chuckled softly.
