Reputation and Why:
It hasn’t even been a handful of moons since Gromit set foot within the territories, yet his clumsy gait and clinking collar have already awarded him with the crummiest of reputations possible. That little, inconspicuous blue monster that spat him out didn’t know what it was bringing into the forest when it arrived, and surely didn’t know what it was truly leaving when it left.
Kittens have listened to the dog’s wailing at night, the voice new to their ears as it sounds much higher than a fox, but more determined than a coyote. For some of the young, it gives them a means to make stories and dare each other to sneak out much farther than their mothers would allow; but, for others, it gives them a reason to wiggle a bit too far under mom’s fur at night, yearning for as much protection from the cries as possible.

For the wildlife, more and more important herbs are being discovered crushed when they’re needed most. Mice and especially birds avoid being caught on the ground these days, and the normally calm doe have been seen tearing through the forests in a panicked frenzy, chased by the hungry little dog howling at their heels, not caring where their hardened toes end up.
Hawthornstar views this major problem with a crooked grimace, keeping one ear cocked to the murmuring of his clan as they begin to question and blame StarClan setting this dog upon them while the other listens for the rustling just beyond their protective brambles, waiting for it to all come crashing down in an explosion of dog spit, teeth, and claw. With a heavy and torn heart, the cream tom has canceled all upcoming fairs to be sure no outside cat gets hurt from their problems, not seeming to realize how much meaning that has to the other clans unaffected by the canine menace around them.

Reputation and Why: Viper has a rough reputation with the cats of HyattClan who live on the opposite side of the road from her junkyard because when those cats first came snooping around, they were quick to judge her height as a something they could take advantage of - but she soon cleared up that misconception, leading her small pack to ravage the tentative camp of the cats while they slept.

Even the raccoons that live in the junkyard with her know to steer clear when Viper is in a bad mood - which is nearly all the time. Kindling and Viper are certainly a match in attitude, but not in species and that makes them formidable enemies.

He's snappy, a little bit arrogant and a reputation for alerting at any and everything. 'Legends' have it that when he first joined BeachClan he drove out all the land prey for miles and if it hadn't been for the fish in the sea BeachClan would have starved. Time spent with the felines has tuned his warning barks to something far more manageable, more of an announcement than an alarm. Yet, cats still remember what he was like before and Queens will often tell their kits, "Don't sneak out, the mean old Charles will be rather feral if he thinks you are a threat sneaking through the shadows like the old ghosts that haunt the cove!"
