What are Teacats?
Teacats were made by accident. A young woman was fiddling around with different tea flavors to try and create a better tea that would draw in more customers to her shop. Thinking her newest formula was going to fail, the woman decided to mess around and stick the tea in a new type of casing- a casing in the shape of a cat. She dropped the tea in the water and sat back to wait for the water to soak up the flavors. However, when she checked the tea, tiny little eyes were staring back up at her. For reasons still unknown, the new casing came to life once it touches water.

This Teacat is early by a day as well, but I really wanted to post them. They're for February<3.
Since February has Valentine's Day, I wanted to make a cupid inspired Teacat to celebrate love! I seem to love putting wings on Teacats.
This lil' one is ready to make the other Teacats fall in love with their bow and arrow!

I watched the sun rise from the window in my Master's teashop. The sky was filled with an array of colors, reminding me of Leonid Afremov's painting; The colorful night. I wondered what David was doing at the moment. I felt my cheeks heat up, turning into an unmistakable deep red. You're so foolish! To distract myself from dreaming about another impossible fantasy between David and I, I got ready for my work. Matchmaking.

The familiar scent of fresh brewed tea filled the air, as customers began to line up. Matchmaking was no easy feat, as mistake was not an option. My bow and arrows laid by my side, cleverly disguised as nothing more than cat bed. I slowly inched the sharp metal tools from under the bed, observing the crowd of groggy, half awake humans. I yawned, this morning was going to be ruff. After a bit of observing, my eyes started to feel heavy, and close, and I unknowingly let go of the bowstring. I heard a whiz, but I was already fast asleep.

I woke up to a surprisingly calm atmosphere. My Master walked over to me, concern written on her face. “Aiko, what did you do?” she asked, sitting next to my windowsill perch. I must’ve shown a look of utter confusion, as my owner quickly replied, “David is head over heels in love with the bush outside. What happened?”

“Oh no oh no oh no!” I muttered, angered with myself. What did I do? Why him of all cats? Oh no!! Suddenly, all memories surged back. I was falling asleep, when David’s owner must have brought him into the shop. I had to have let go of the string, hitting David as they were leaving. I felt so ashamed and so stupid for messing up so badly. I couldn’t even begin to understand how I did what I did. What should I do?

“Aiko, don’t worry, We’ll figure something out.” my Master said, reassuring me. I relaxed, we would find something out.



Backstory : On February 13, 2018, a young woman was preparing a batch of tea for her evening customers, when she had the idea to create another teacat. She grabbed some rose and earl grey tea, and began creating the new teacat. She was distracted that night, thinking about her own love life. She deeply hoped this tecat would fix her love problems, and so, she fashion it a bow and arrow out of tea leaves and twine, unlocking her inner crafter. When she was done, she left the cat submerging in a cup of boiling water, forgetting about it as she went to binge watch Netflix. The next day, a little blob stared back at her, curled up into a ball. The bright pink of the tea gave her the idea to call the cat Aiko, meaning love. The two formed a bond, stronger than she expected and Aiko solved her love problems, one arrow at a time.

Amorette runs a small cafe, where she helps the broken hearted. It is her pride and joy, and she devotes all her time to making it the best cafe ever. It has everything, from warm hot chocolate to freshly baked scones.
She gave up being a cupid a long time ago, and now spends her time helping others. Matchmaking was much too stressful, and so she decided it wasn't worth it. She much prefers helping those who have been hurt.
She nurses the sad, lonely folk back to happiness with gentle words and a cup of warm tea. She is always smiling, always comforting. When they leave, she bids them fairwell, and sits alone with her own cup of tea.

To be honest, I had a very hard time judging the competition. I was so torn between the entries and it took me a while to decide who to award this Teacat to. Annbellboo, I really loved your artwork. I can tell you put a lot of time into it and I love it so much. I've sent a trade to Katrione in exchange for some Teacakes which i've asked her to give to you. It should be about 61.5TC but I could be wrong i'm bad at math. I really appreciate all of the entries, I enjoyed going through them.
