ME FINISHING THINGS LIKE 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE END TIME? YEAH. SORRY THIS IS RLY RUSHED AND I KNOW LIKE EVERYONE PICKED BAD COMEDY FOR THE FAV MOVIE GENRE
I.
at this point, gio was heavily considering faking his death, changing his name, moving to a distant island to live with janus, sending a passive-aggressive anonymous message to his parents explaining why his death was their fault, living off of raw meat and urine, and dying of malaria at the ripe old age of thirty.
...alright, so maybe that was an exaggeration.
listen. he's had a horrible week. everything sucks. he got kicked out of his home because he wasn't contributing to the family or whatever, despite literally being looking for a job, and now he was sitting here in his best friend's room, a gross little mess wrapped in blankets.
thanks, mom and dad! love you too.
this was just fantastic. the dream, really. this is exactly what he wanted to do with his life. no sarcasm! just facts!
he made a noise, something like the kind of noise you make when someone's waking you up and you don't wanna be awake because you were sleeping real well, and lifted up his blankets to make a little hood.
janus' blankets. not his. this wasn't his house.
not that he had one.
II.
gio and janus had been sitting next to each other in silence for the past god-knows-how-long. by now, gio swore he could hear his organs doing their work. gross.
"gio?"
no. no thank you. he liked the silence more. acknowledging feelings is bad and talking is bad and that's exactly what janus was going to make him do.
"gio."
"giovanni. don't ignore me, mister."
gio grumbled. what the hell was his taste in friends? "oh, jesus christ, what are you, my mom? go wash the dishes or something and leave me alone."
janus rubbed his temples. he was a patient woman, but these past few days, gio had been wearing him thin. it's not like he didn't get it, he did! he knew the stress gio was under, and he knew he was the type to handle his feelings by being... stubborn.
"okay, listen. you can't keep doing that."
gio grumbled again. eloquent.
maybe bribery would do the trick. "hey. we can watch that new movie you wanted to see and get some ice cream after, yeah?"
silence.
maybe bribery wasn't the right idea.
"damn it, janus." gio stood up. "you've known me for too long. when's the movie on?"
oh.
janus picked up his phone. "um... half an hour. go get dressed. you're not going out when you're like, practically in your underwear."
gio snorted. "gee, thanks. you really are my mom."
"please. i'm just your token lesbian friend."
III.
to put it simply, this movie was terrible.
gio already lost the plot. the jokes were far too forced, it was painfully heterosexual, and he's not even sure why there was a talking turtle, but it was there.
but it reminded him of his own turtle, jo. so the talking turtle was cool.
he rolled his eyes at another joke that was clearly added last minute.
god, he loved bad comedies.
they had to be his favourite genre of all.
IV.
"so... what i'm getting at here is megan was totally a demon."
"i'm sorry, megan was a what? you lost me like... forty sentences ago, janus."
gio took a bite of his ice cream. sensitive teeth who?
janus shrugged. "i dunno, it just makes sense! did you miss the horns scene? the whole part where bruce talked about her being like a demon stealing his soul?"
"okay. first of all, metaphors are a thing."
"metaphor, shmetaphor, the movie was serious. remember when she didn't want to go to church?"
"it's because she was an atheist."
"but that's the perfect cover up for a demon!"
gio couldn't help it, he burst into laughter. what a stupid conversation. he missed feeling like this, and it had only been a week.
janus put a hand to his chest and gasped. "gio! don't laugh at me! it's called analysis!"
"i will laugh at you. ha."
"jerk." janus crossed his arms and pouted.
...yeah. everything was gonna be okay.
gio was sure of it.

! they like the colors red and blue (if you cant tell) and i imagine they enjoy taking care of pets, mostly like reptiles and turtles and stuff like that. Also they have two moles on their right cheek
