Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.
Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!

I was super hyped for staff kals this year because I may have a slight obsession with scarves, and after I found this scarf I knew I had no other choice ;o

What do they do to keep warm?:
Jin grew up in a korean-immigrant family, and one thing prominent in her childhood were those hard, bamboo, heated floor mats. They were never too comfortable, which could always be solved by a bundle of blankets on top of it. There was always one in her living room, present even in the summer days. Once winter came around, it would be hard to find Jin not on it, either sleeping, sketching, studying, or painting. The mat now has many stains of watercolor and acrylic as well as eraser shavings wedged tightly in the small slits between each straw, and if you look closer, maybe you can even find crumbs of 뿌셔뿌셔 (ppushu ppushu), a favorite snack of hers. Jin, who can barely withstand a degree below optimal body temperature, always cranks it up all the way to fifth setting - nice and warm for Jin, but a much-too-hot nuisance for the rest of her family.

Sue very much enjoys a warm cup of tea and a long book to read next to the large windows of her home, bundled below blankets. Her favorite book would, of course, be Common Sense by Thomas Paine, which she feels particularly attached to after hearing it mentioned in a song her friend enjoyed. Of course, she doesn't remember what the song was, but she did remember the book, which is now consistently laying on her coffee table, being read on, at the very least, a weekly-monthly basis (depending on how her own book is coming along and how busy she is with her YouTube channel), though she does try make sure it's not the only thing she reads, which is why she still keeps a large bookshelf fully stocked for reading in between her Common Sense re-readings.
