The drive home from the frat party that night was tense, the air heavy with needling thoughts and questions with no true answer. College had been a wash, nothing had gone right.

Ace’s only friend, Trixie, sat beside him, finally breaking the silence.

“Ace. Give it up - we’ve been friends since before I could walk, I know something’s wrong. Tell me what’s on your mind and lighten up a bit- eh?” She nudged him as if to provoke a response.

His fingers only rapped on the steering wheel, eyes glazed over on the road ahead.
“I’m tired of this. Of being just another damn face I mean. What is it I wanted to do? did it ever matter?” Ace admitted, voice hitching in his throat as he fought back tears.

“I didn’t want to join the frats, didn’t want to go through their stupid ‘initiation’ and humiliate myself. But everyone says it’s a staple! Yea! A real damn great part of my college experience. What i’m saying is, maybe I don’t want any of this. Maybe I don’t want to be another drop out, another sad statistic. I want to be something more, Trix. I wanna go places. I want people to know my name...” Ace could barely manage a hoarse whisper now, no longer fighting the heaving sobs wracking his body.

Ace never took his eyes off the road in front of him, even through bleary eyes and the tears running in rivulets down his face. He couldn’t see the lines on the road now - it didn’t matter. He never did see that truck, either.

Seattle was eleven when she dropped out of school, her family and friends
disapproved of her drop from education, but she knew what she wanted, and
what she wanted was to be just like her mother, she looked up to her,
oh her garments were absolutely stunning. But by this time she was getting
quite old, so she wanted to pass down everything she knew about fashion design
down to Seattle. ''Now dear, thread your needle, and pull through, nice and gently,
that's right.'' Seattle's mother's voice was sweet like honey, she was the best clothing
designer She knew, and luckily she had the chance to be her apprentice. What a lucky little girl!
Seattle focused on the needle and grasped it tightly pulling it back through
the fabric. ''like that?'' She smiled, quite proud of her work. ''Yes, that's perfect.'' Her
mother gleamed happily. It had been fourteen years since that day, that was the first time
Seattle learnt to sew, and now she's done it more times than she can count. Her mother
taught her that, she had such a flamboyant and elegant personality and seattle is much
like her mother. And since she retired Seattle has been studying to keep her mother's
memory alive. She ran the small clothing store on the highstreet where crowds would fly
in just to catch a glimpse of her clothing in person, what a dream that would be. and so
Seattle's life goal is to live up to the high expectations her mother, and her family has for
her, and have tourists fly in from around the world just to see her designs! Oh what a
dream it would be indeed! [273 / 300 words]

Dear Diary,
Today, I was thrown under a bus again, but that's okay! It hurt a lot, but I was okay! People called me a freak and a monster when I was walking to school today, I love it when they call me that. It makes me feel special! I just smiled and said thank you like I always do, and they ran away screaming? Was it something I said? Or was it that my smile looked ugly? I've been brushing every day so my teeth couldn't look that bad, right?

My advisory teacher told me I wasn't going to be worth anything, and that I shouldn't even have dreams for the future. She's mean, I know, but I'm not going to let her get me down! I'm going to grow up to be the first Zombie to become a doctor! I know, it sound crazy, but I'm telling you! I've got the smarts, and I've got a plan too! I can assure you, The next time you hear of the next important doctor, that'll be me on the headline! I just hope my future patients don't freak out when they see me...

Also, My new set of tapes came in the mail today! I'm so ready to put them into my recorder and see if there are any demons hidden in there! Yeah, I get it, I want to be a doctor and I try to communicate with the dead, how very menacing. Seriously, though! It's extremely fun to put them into a giant circle of symbols and see what happens! I told someone I knew about it, and they told me something I can't say here because it's super mean, but at least they gave me a response, which is one better than last time!
