Just then the ground underneath the dragon began to glow. Aceana gaped in wonder “That’s a Flos Mortem fire ring, one of the most powerful fire spells. He must have cast it before he fell, but how? That kind of spell takes time cast” Realization sparked in Icarus’s eyes, “That must have been what he was drawing before we entered.” Aceana slapped her forehead, “Of course, if you had already drawn the magic circle, it could be cast much faster. But still… Flos Mortem is a very slow spell; the dragon could easily avoid it. If his mana doesn’t cut off when...” she gulped a breath air unable to finish the sentence. As despair started to sink into her, something happened. The temperature dropped, a suddenly chilling wind pushed smokey gray clouds, and blocked out the sun. Then a dark shadow rose up from behind the cliff.
