Another babe that was disowned and looking for a new and wonderful home. I'm going to use the original form for this one, so have fun with it. This babe has been bred before and so much remain biologically male, however they can identify as whatever they wish. Here are the children; Saki & this one.

For the the contest, the original contest was to create a story for them. So that is what we will go with! I'm going to put a limit on the story of 1500 words though as I feel that is ample enough words for 1 story. I will add that you have have up to 2 art extras, but no more than that. No comics, small/pixel animations are fine though. Remember quality over quantity, I'd much rather see a developed character in 900 words than a filler story in the full 1500 words. Prettying up is allowed & encouraged. This contest will end June 10th, 2017 @ 5pm cst. Extensions may be permitted if more than one is requested a minimum of 2 days before contest's end. Good luck!

↔My ears pushed back a little as he threw more logs into the pit. “Pass me those rocks, please?” My head was still dizzy. How did I survive? I looked at the stranger, before looking behind me to see the rocks he must be mentioning. I handed them over. With a loud *click!* he struck the rocks together. I flinched as I saw small sparks fly from the rocks and land into the fireplace. I watched as it awoke. I started to back away a bit, “This fire won't grow big, I promise. Now get warm, you’re practically soaked.” I looked at him warily, though he motioned me closer to the fire. Sighing, I scooted closer, finding some relief from the new warmth.
“Where ya from?” He asked me. I was silent for a moment, Looking at the bandages he wrapped my arms and body with. I must've really been beaten up. “Well.. far north I guess. After being framed, I left trying to look for a new home. I had settled somewhere, But they found me.” I looked into the fire, remembering Chromes face and receiving chills. “Fun, fun,” The tone of his voice I could tell he wasn't surprised with my response. “Let me guess, you usually find others washed up by the rivers end?” I laughed nervously. He shrugged, “Sometimes- usually I’m to late,” I looked up from the fire to see he had a blanket hanging from one of his arms, and a bowl of tea in the opposite paw. “Here.” He handed me the supplies. I took the blanket and tea, but was cautious. “Well?”
“Uhh, sorry. “ I took a sip of the tea. “I just keep thinking about her... ” Bonsai sighed. “I’m not sure what happened. But I’m sure your life will sort itself out.” I smiled, “Thanks.”

↔“You won't get away this time!” A murderous voice sounded behind me. I didn't look back, At least I'm far from Dottie and Saki, They better know nothing of them. The rushing water of the rapids didn't help in knowing where why attackers where. I turned and faced the incompetent leader of that group, But I shouldn't have stopped when I had. Teeth bared and ready to fight, I sparred with him. Each of us retrieving large gashes and stinging bites. I felt another one attack me from the side, rendering me off balance. We were nearing the cliff. “Why do you even bother going after me?!” I hissed, Pinning him down. He laughed back, “You’ve done something that's unforgivable, and don't deserve to live.” Before I could kill him, I felt the ground under me start to shake- crumble. I let go of him and tried to get back onto safe land. The followers grabbed their leader and pulled him away as he scrambled up to stable land himself as I struggled. Water spit in my face as it went over the edge.. The leader looked at me with Sinister eyes, before turning to leave. Chrome… Why? I felt my grasp loosen, before falling over the edge with the waterfall. Everything faded away from around me...

↔“It doesn't have to be this way Basil! We can run with you, or-” I snapped back at her. “No, Dottie!” I sighed, seeing the pain in her face. “I have to leave. I won't put Saki or you in danger for just for being around longer. And They will do anything to get to me. I don't want to be here if it means you or our daughter is to get hurt without reasoning.” I turned away. I’m so sorry, Dottie… Consider me a good as dead.” A spear of pain impaled my heart as I listened to her. “Why Didn't you tell me sooner you where running?! Why did you stay with me so long?! It's not fair basil! Why did you-”

“I’m a rouge from a bad pack, Dottie. I was accused, and now their on the hunt. I thought they would give up but... I have to leave now. After seeing Chrome out here with a few others.. I know they're still looking for me. I’m so sorry. Please, Just, Take care...” I already missed both of them so much from walking away. I didn't look back. I couldn't, I wouldn't, let my family get hurt- Even if the cost was to leave them forever.

↔ I trained Every day with Chrome. It hurt, as you could say. Everyone was too rough. But no doubt I was getting better. Chrome didn't really care If I got hurt though. And only having one medic in the pack that didn't know much, just let me do my own thing. I ended up learning a thing or two, and you could say the medic learnt from me.
It's been a year now since I’ve been a part of this pack. I was lonesome for the most part, but I was alive and eating well, so I couldn't complain. Recently, Chrome became second in command when the previous viscet was found dead in a different territory.

It was the middle of the night. Everyone was asleep, other than the guard. I couldn't sleep, Something didn't feel right. I stood and stretched; I left my nest. I walked through the camp and to the guard. “I’m going out to the river.” They nodded and let me pass. I ran to the river, Cool night air felt nice. Getting to the the calm river, I took a sip and sighed. I asked myself as I watched my reflection, What am I still doing here? I should leave and never come back. It would be better that way.. I started to make my way back to camp. Though, As I grew closer, I could hear heated debate and upset viscets. I ran faster, When I reached camp, I was in shock. Caver was in the Clearing, dead. “Where were you!?” Chrome Yelled above all. Chrome had tears border his eyes, No one had never seen him… So upset. But, It's not right. They would Never cry. It didn't add up. “Where where you, Basil?”
“I was at the Lake, I couldn't Sleep.” I told calmly in defense. Chrome snarled back at me. “You Liar! You Killed him, Didn't you!?”
“What, no?! Chrome, please! I wouldn't ever!” I was getting scared. Not many viscets in this pack liked me. And the time I knew Chrome, he despised me. Chrome approached me. “You must of killed him, You weren't here. You were at the river to try and wash away your crime. You don't fool me.” Viscets were siding with Chrome. I stood no chance. “I would never Kill! Chrome- You know this! Everyone knows I'm a coward!” My words didn't stop Chrome from lunging at me. I shut my eyes and sliced whatever was in front of me. I heard a loud shriek and thud. I opened my eyes, Chrome was covering his left eye with his paw, blood stained half of his face. I backed away, “Get him” I felt fright fill my body as others started to approach me. I ran. I had to get away.

↔I hated this pack ever since joining a month ago. They all hated me. They had their suspicions from me since the start. Thinking I had some “power” or something and I was a spy. I vowed my loyalty. But only so I could stay alive.. With my caregiver gone, and only being young. I had to join. Even if its… dangerous. My young eyes looked up to the leader as he spoke. “Basil. Come here.” I was hesitant, but followed. “Yes, Caver?” My voice was shaky. “You will now train with Chrome, Being as old as you are and a part of this pack, you must keep strong. No weaknesses.” Chrome walked over, bowing. “Train him well.”
“Yes, Caver.” I looked up to Chrome and flinched. Chrome was always a little, off to me. I could tell he had a plan for something… sinister. Chrome Hissed at me as we walked away and the pack dispersed to do their own thing again, “Don't Flinch. That's one of the worst things to do in front of the leader.” I nodded. “Yes, Chrome.”
“Good. We start to train tomorrow. Be awake and ready by dawn.” And he walked away, leaving me to my own.

An excerpt from 'The Secret Places of Silvarum'
...I had not planned to cross the water beyond the Skyedge. I see many talking about how I bravely commandeered a ship and sailed away to adventure... this is certainly not what occurred. I suppose I'll have to document the tale of what actually happened.

I had run away from my home in Moonrise a couple months prior following that wonderful feeling of wanderlust and adventure, and it had taken me to the other corner of the known world. The Skyedge has always been a lawless, dangerous place, far from the reach of any kingdom's rule - but back in my time it was far worse, and I had quite my fair share of close encounters with danger. Having left with little but my journal and myself, I spent a lot of time stealing what food I needed and hiding out in obscure locations. But one day an ill-chosen resting place led to a terrifying journey.

...My hiding place that day had been among the cargo of a trading ship, hidden under a tarp on the top deck. It was a brilliant spot to be, and I was certainly enjoying myself as I munched on oranges that were supposed to go to some obscure location. But after some time like this, the wind blew the wrong way, the ship wasn't attached properly to the dock... and the frigate swiftly was blown away from shore.

I poked my head out from underneath my spot, confused as to what was going on... and I realized we were heading towards the unknown. The waters beyond the skyedge had never been explored, and it was said to hold all kinds of terrible dangers.

Funny... I should have been scared, but there was something exciting about going where no Silvarian had gone before.

...There was one other crew member aboard the ship - a young ferret who saw me by the railing of the ship as we were blown steadily away from the known world. All I knew was we were heading towards adventure, and I was excited as I was terrified.

I plan to go in depth to my adventures later in the book, but the short version of the story is that the brave ferret and I ended up sailing all around the other edge of the world until we got around to the north edge of Silvarum. Let me tell you, it was quite the surprise! But it also made me aware that there were more secrets hiding in the wild places of the land than anyone knew about. And I was determined to find them all.

renegade Moonrise warrior, ran away seeking adventure and ended up discovering what lay on the other side of the Skyedge. Master map maker and charter of unknown land, he's widely known nowadays for being Silvarum's best explorer and adventurer. Recently he published a book titled 'The Secret Places of Silvarum' under the pen name 'The Guardian'. After all, that's what he's come to be known as among the many people of the land.
