Ok, the fates r decided! I will be taking the top left blue kit, Ririan will be taking the bottom left kit, and the right kit will be going for adoption ;o;

The contest will be simple: give them a name, gender, and a character concept. It can be 100 - 1000 words long and can describe anything about their character. If you don't like writing you can do 1-3 art pieces that show their character in anyway you like (and if you feel like you need to you can include a short explanation at the bottom, max a sentence or two). Only thing is that the kit should remain disconnected from the rest of the family.

Ophelia Averdash-Rose knows something you don't. Or at least that's how she goes about selling her fortune-telling "skills." She may be young, but that's never stopped her from standing her ground. She'll tell you your future, too - for a small price.

By age seven, she'd already started dabbling in the fortune telling industry. By nine, she'd shadowed enough professionals to spin off on her own and make her living. She grew up far from abandoned, but kept her distance from her adoptive mother, Alice. She never knew anything about her birth parents, and in a lot of ways, she didn't want to. The ominous eyes scattered across her coat leave her with more questions than she wants answers to.

And who can blame her? Like a mark, they led her down the path of divination - or at least her none-too-shabby attempts at recreating it. She may not really have "the gift," but she's a frighteningly skillful observer - and in a lot of ways - a flat out lair. One might consider her a con artist, if anyone dare be so bold about a fourteen-year-old girl. She can wow her audiences with tarot reading and crystal balls, but where she really shines is paw reading. Then again, having a paw covered in eyes does seem like a pretty good pathway into the world of spirits.

With another kalon's paw in hers, she can tune in to their pulse, their breathing, and that personalized interaction gives her all the cues she needs to spin up just the future they want to hear - or - just the future they fear. She doesn't always idealize - sometimes she thinks it really is best to let those dicey relationships go - but she tries to send everyone off with confidence in their future. She gets to pocket the cash, and devious as she is, there's something sweetly satisfying about a customer leaving with a new determination to fix one of their problems in life - or accept a fate that may be too late to change.

She's bright for fourteen - maybe not in school-smarts (she'll never admit it - but her literacy level is early elementary at best) - but in the knowledge of people. Something about them fascinates her - as close as she can get - she'll never be able to know for certain what anyone is about to say - or where they will end up one day. In a way it leads her on to her own future - her own uncertainties of her past - and her desire to know more about the web of relationships around her.

She keeps her operation on the down-low at home. To her knowledge, her adoptive mother has no idea. And with how well she hides it, she actually doesn't. Ophelia keeps her hoard of profit tucked far from sight. Really, she's a bit of a greedy little thing. Hardly any of her pile gets spent. Most of it stays in its shoebox hideaway under her bed, leaving her tickled from the numerical count of the cash alone. Someday, yes, she'll spend it, but she's far from decided on what. She's a thoughtful little thing, and knows better than to run off and waste it all on the newest toy or a pretty dress. No, she'll make plans before any good portion of that goes missing. But… in the meantime, sometimes it's nice to have a little something extra to spend thanking the mother that did pull her from foster care, after all.
