Due to his rider's love of bonfires and camping, Avery has had his share of time beside the fire. It's warm and comforting, but get too close and it bites. The crackling and snapping and hissing of it are calming to the high strung stallion, and he's been told by others in his herd that his markings resemble the flames. Several of his friends, family, even strangers, have described it to him in vivid detail; it looks how it feels.

Beautiful, dangerous, but warm. It's the same color as the sun, bright and blazing, and moves like a swaying serpent. When you feed it, it dances for you, growling for more, but starve it, and it sinks into glowing rocks at your hooves. The humans carry it in little wooden sticks, or small canisters of foul smelling liquid, or shiny metal tubes where the flame wont dance, but is still bright enough to make you see spots. It may look like they've tamed the fire, but it still bites back, consuming their homes if left unchecked.

Avery has always felt a kinship with this 'fire', and would give anything to be able to see it, if even for just a moment.

Answer: Snow hasn't ever been one to wish she could see something, but after moving to the South Korean ranch, Winter Peak, and listening to the other horses talk about the majestic peaks that line the horizon from all angles, she can't help but wish to see them for herself. She's had her mate, A Pu, describe them to her, but she wishes to see them for herself. She's heard mares talk about how the snow on the peaks glistens in the morning sunlight and takes on a pink-ish tint as the sun sets. It pains Snow that she'll never be able to see the beautiful frozen ice crystals that she was named after.

If Kachina could pick one thing to see she would choose the ocean. The ranch she was born at was close to a beach and she remembers how she could hear the sound of the water, the steady beating of the waves. Long before the ranch hands realized she was blind they would take her down to the sand and let her run, to strengthen her legs; and she would dive into the water recklessly, letting it slosh up around her neck and head, feeling it wash over the slope of her back. After she was sold she missed the ocean most particularly, especially because she'd never been able to see it for herself. Some of the more well-traveled Clovercliff horses try their best to describe it but for Kachina, who has never seen color, the word 'blue' does nothing for her. So instead she lets Aesop tell her fables of sea creatures and Vikings and sailors, and she lets the stories paint the ocean rather than a color.
