Buttercups are a cross between butterflies and dogs. They are very playful and love to be cuddled with. They have two sets of wings, one behind their ears and one on their back. They have close association with fairies and every time a Buttercup is born, a fairy will deliver a certain orb that suits that pup and protects it. Different orbs are what distinguish the pups' rarity. Common/Uncommon orbs will only have one color. Rare orbs have two and Very rare orbs have three. Sometimes you might find a fairy in one and that makes it a legendary rare. The rarity can be seen by the color of the bar, green for common, yellow for uncommon, orange for rare, red for very rare and rainbow for legendary.
They're born in cocoons that will give a sneak peak of what the buttercup will look like. Then they go into teen stage but since the body is still developing, their wings aren't fully grown and their eyes haven't been opened yet.
