Spruce is very spacey. He often finds it hard to focus. He's always lost in deep thought, rather than paying attention to whatever he's supposed to be doing. Spruce usually spaces out whenever someone is trying to talk to him. He finds himself thinking about something completely different and staring off into space. When other kalons point this out, he will likely deny it, as he is a bit embarrassed by this. He's basically always in his own little world.

conversations with his houseplants as he goes
about his own business. Reid will ask them how
they're feeling when he goes to feed them, and
he's always finding himself apologizing to Ben
(a large fern) when he has to move its leaves
out of the way of the back door. If the kalon
passes by a live plant when he's outside -a rare
sight in his city- Reid will probably mumble a
polite hello. His friends are aware of this little
quirk of his, but just fondly roll their eyes and
make sure not to accidentally crush his buddies.

quirk; Ever get on-edge about something, and feel the need to speak to whatever's out there? Like when the to-be-murdered victims of a horror movie demand a response from the eerie night atmosphere and whatever could be lurking in it. Rickie has the odd habit of always speaking aloud to things they believe are there. Of course if something really were watching, it probably wouldn't decide to leave just because some goofy, grubby little kid told it to go away.

Naturally, Rickie has the most problems with this during the night time or places that could provide good hiding spots, like the woods. Unfortunately for this very earthy, child of nature, paranoia-riddled nerd, they love going out into the wild and exploring. The only time they've ever faced with being watched in the dark by some terrifying creature was a hungry raccoon following them through the bushes. It showed its face then ran away further into the trees.

Their body language tends to become more rigid and their pace quickened if they suspect a silent persecutor. Rickie's ears swivel and flicker in any direction they think they heard something come from. Adrenaline and fear steadily flow through them as they continue forward, but it ebbs away within a few minutes. Typically this process is accompanied by minor threats, muttered comments of self doubt, and clearly expressed annoyance. At that point it turns into a one-sided conversation riddled with sarcasm and aimless speculations.

Rickie nearly ends up forgetting about their fear entirely and instead just keeps talking to the surrounding environment. They pretty much keep talking to themself in order to distract from the theory that something, someone, is following them. Maybe their chatting will keep the stalker's mind off of kidnapping them.

quirk; [max 500 words] Jake has a habit of chewing his bottom lip when he's nervous. Sometimes it gets so bad he hurts himself by accident, and often uses bandaids to patch up his lip, although it looks sorta funny. On some days he puts a bandaid on his lip so he wont chew a hole in his lip.
Aside from that, Jake has a few facial tics. Sometimes he continuously blinks rapidly for several moments, or keep scrunching his nose (which is actually cute)

When Jake wants to be alone, or to think, he walks himself to the nearest creek or river. He finds a calmness with water, and it helps him get his thoughts clear. He also loves the watch the frogs, as they are his favorite animal. His favorite sound to fall asleep to at night is the frogs croaking, which is why more often than not you can find him at night in a hammock by the flowing water.
