A flying tree snake named Niyol
||how they met||
Feng has always been most comfortable in his hammock among the trees, it keeps him out of the way of most other Kalons. One day he found an odd shape tangled along his hammock and investigated only to find a baby snake had tangled itself in the rope. After carefully removing the snake, he put it back in the tree and went about his day gazing at the clouds as they passed over. Dozing off for a while. Feng woke with a start feeling something move across his belly; it was by no surprise to him, the snake from earlier. He'd heard before that they were poisonous, but it seem like the snake was just trying to sun itself in the trees so he left it for now.
After the sun went down, the snake slithered off his belly and coiled up near the edge of the hammock. Watching intently, the snake uncoiled and shot itself into the air, gliding like a bird onto the ground and into the shadows. For several days the snake came back and rested on him before disappearing, after a while he named the snake Niyol meaning 'wind' for his fantastic flying. Eventually they grew and understanding and he'd carry the snake up in the morning and take him home at night.
As the snake grew larger, they became attached at the hip, or neck to be more literal. Niyol can be often be found tangled in Feng's necklace or wrapped around his ears like a hat. The snake mostly eats piece of fish with him and sometimes bugs; rarely the Kalon will let him lose to eat a mouse or whatever he catches.

Feng considered naming the snake Rudy or Flare after it's red markings but thought something more traditional to his family would be nice. It's nickname is Ni-Ni and Yol, but he'll only call it Ni-Ni when they're having relaxation time or if he feels like teasing the snake even though it's against his personality to tease anyone else.

how they met;; Guthrie was just about to head home from his job, working maintenance at a small wind farm, when he noticed a bat that had been injured by the turbines. He didn’t have the heart to just leave the creature, so he took the bat home with him and nursed it back to health. After some time, the bat seemed well enough to release, so Guthrie let it out in his backyard, only to wake up the next day to find the bat sitting outside his door. He let it out the next night and the same thing happened, so he shrugged and took the tiny critter in, realizing it wasn’t going to leave.
