Orion the Star Collector

Introduction: "Hmm you haven't happened to see large crater in the ground anywhere have you? No? I guess it must have landed a bit father ahead then." Continuing my search I quickly advance further into this mysterious new land. However it seems that Kalon I just asked that question to has begun to follow me. "What am I looking for? Oh well, see that kinda has to stay my secret for a while...I need to study it first and I don't really want civilians to know about it because you'd be surprised how many people will just steal things that are so incredibly important to science and our knowledge of worlds beyond our own." Just then I caught the whiff of a familiar smell that comes with this job, it smelled like ash from a recent fire. It came from the south...the site has to be there. Without even thinking about the Kalon I was just talking to I instantly take off to find what I came here for. After fighting my way through tangled brush for about half an hour I finally came to a giant opening and I just knew that this had to be it. However to my surprise that Kalon has continued to follow me...they're quite the persistent one. "Before we continue any further since you've followed me all the way here I suppose I can share this secret with you, but you have to promise not to tell anyone not your friends or your family literally no one and do not take anything from the site unless I give you the okay, alright? Alright." We took the final steps past some low hanging vines that had been obstructing our view and there it was. A giant crater in the ground. Created by none other than an asteroid. As we approach the edge I give just a little warning to my new found acquaintance. "Be careful now, this site is still fairly fresh so there is honestly no telling what we could find. It might also still have some cinders burning from the fire it created when it struck the ground. We're lucky it rained this morning." I go first sliding into the deep pit so I can finally discover what this crater has to offer me. I watch as my companion slides in a well to make sure they don't fall. Approaching the middle there it is that big beautiful space rock that could change everything as we know it. I pull out a few tools from my belt and begin dusting around the asteroid in order to get a better look. "What was that? Oh my name? My name is Orion." I notice the fairly young Kalon just looking around kinda baffled by all of this so I guess I should tell him just a little bit about myself maybe. "You know ever since I was little I have always loved stars, even little manufactured ones like these clips I wear. My mother and father weren't around too often, they had work to attend to so I spent a lot of time at an observatory that was literally right beside my home. I became friends with the old man that lived there and took care of the place. I started to help him out whenever I could, he let me come and go and use anything there that I wanted whenever I pleased. One late night I was using the big telescope, I loved to look through that thing it was truly amazing, however that night I actually saw something. The surprising part was just how close that something was, it whizzed across the sky and landed right on the other side of town. I stayed up all night looking for it and I eventually found it. A tiny little meteorite that had left a decent little crater in the ground. Ever since that night I've been infatuated with meteors and asteroids there is just something about them that always fills my heart with that same childish wonder I had that night as a young boy. Once I was older the old man entrusted that observatory to me and it's somewhere I will always consider my home but I just couldn't stay there my whole life. I wanted to learn more about these foreign objects and even study them myself so I could get first hand knowledge. I became an Astrologist and a Archaeologist. A lot of Kalons that lived in the past experienced so many things that can't even be described now so that was an important part of my study. I actually came here to study a temple nearby when I heard some locals talking about "A giant thing from the sky falling last night." and well...that's pretty much how I ended up here." After all that talking I take a deep sigh and just look to the boy thinking he'd be bored out of his mind but instead....I see that same wonder that I had in my eyes when I was just a boy and I couldn't help but smile. "You know I'm glad I let you come with me today, kid. Hey do you know any of the constellations? Only a few? Alright well try and point out the ones you know and I'll tell you if you're right then show you some new ones." We sat there all night long and simply talked about the stars.

introduction:
'a new day, a new way' a tone shouted quietly throughout my mind. it was easy getting up in the mornings as i was much of a morning fellow, but sometimes it was hard going to bed at night. i, arian, always got distracted when it was time for me to lay down. stars tumbled across the sky as if they were painted perfectly for society to base their lives upon. that was the only good side of this godforsaken island.
of course i love living on my own, but for 18 years, it starts to become lonely and boring. call if cabin fever if you will. when i was a small tiny kit, the only things that vividly strike me was my mother dying from swimming out in the sea to get dinner, and my father falling from a high tree to grab some bird for dinner.
they both died for food.
it was a comical way to look at it, but somehow and someway, i felt that the way they died was my fault. if you go upon feeling guilty about your parent's death for about 18 years on an island. you start to think you're insane.
every day was supposed to be a new day, and a new way for me to base living. hunting for food was absolutely terrible, and a waste of time. sleeping in a cave on nothing but a scratchy ground was terrible, and a waste of time. entertainment was nowhere near what you would find on an island, and soon enough i was starting to lose hope for rescue, or a way to live happily.
it was that one night when i finally left my rusty cave to sit underneath the abandonment of stars. it was like something was calling out for me, something special was to come out of watching these stars do absolutely nothing, and then it hit me. why was i so entertained to look at stars that do nothing but sit there in the dark sky? i could be dancing, or building something for all i know, but the stars entertained me much more.
it hit me real hard. i wanted to become an astronaut, or maybe an astronomer if i wasn’t up for all the training for becoming an astronaut, but then something else hit me. i’m on an island in the middle of nowhere, there was no way of going about this dream of mine. unless i built something.
a boat would be the easiest thing to build, but would it last? i didn’t know where i was or how my parents even decided to get me here. it was a unnerving process, and idea.
“maybe i should stop.” my raspy voice called out in the middle of nowhere. i sat alone on the sandy beach, looking out into the ocean, dreading where i was and what i was thinking. if my parents were here, they would probably still be living, cooking, and… just be here on this island. and somehow, i know they would make this island seem fun and entertaining. i knew, deep down inside, an instinct if you will, was to leave. no matter what the cause was or how stupid the idea was.
i was going to pursue my dream of becoming an astronaut, or an astronomer if it even meant death. i loved the stars, almost as if every single one of them were my family.
that’s when i began building a cruddy boat. it wasn’t much, i didn’t even know where to begin, but i knew i was determined, and really, the boat didn’t look like it was going to last. an irritated mutter drew upon my mouth, and quickly, and quietly i pushed the small boat into the water and hopped inside of it suddenly noticing that it was sinking. i gave a small yelp and hopped out into the cold water, clawing my way back upon the dreadful island.
a bird perched nearby, curiously watching me. i could see it from the corners of my eyes. it felt weird to be watched, but by the looks of the bird, the cross-eyed animal almost looked sad for me. something began to bubble within me, anger was what it truly felt like and suddenly the bird flew from where it was sitting and drew close to me on the sandy beach.
“you won’t escape with hopes like that.” the bird spoke, drawing out the word ‘hopes’. almost on cue, i threw up my soggy, wet paw and tried slashing at the irritating bird, in hopes to get rid of it. all the bird did was laugh before sitting somewhere else on the sand, getting closer to my snout. “i want to help you. it’s the least i can do for you.” i slowly looked up to the bird before blinking my big, purple eyes.
“you wanna help me?” i scoffed before sitting up, and looking up towards the bright, sickening sky. the bird almost looked like they saw a ghost.
“did i stutter arian?” the bird shot back, causing my heart to leap in size. this bird knew my name? but how? slowly, i bit down on my tongue before shifting in my spot.
“who are you, and what’s your name?” the bird fluttered her wings before puffing out her chest in accomplishment.
“lina is my name, love! i’m a mere bird that’s been watching you since a small tiny baby! even after your parent’s death!” something stung from this bird’s words, and something was currently stuck in my throat as well. no matter how cheerful she was, it was almost like she was completely ignoring the fact that i've been stuck on an island for 18 years.
“okay then, lina. help me escape, fly across this island and find someone who truly wants to help me leave.” i looked over at lina before she flinched. suddenly, guilt drew upon my face and lina opened up her beak only causing me to sink into the sand. “i’m sorry.”
“it’s alright. i don’t expect much friendliness from you considering you’ve been on your own for a long time.” she paused for a second, taking a deep breath before continuing. “let me help you.” and with that she disappeared into the sunset sky of the island. a feather falling from her body, and onto my lap almost like some kind of souvenir.
that’s how, my life and adventure truly began.

Introduction: Maybe I should start off with a little about myself? I'm not sure. But anyhow, I guess if you're here you'd like to know me better, my name is Abney, I like pastel colors, and my best friend is Jahkoya. He's a lot more adult than me, but he's fun to play games with and hang out with. I heard he's like a prince or something now! How cool is that?! Oh, ahem. I guess you want to hear more about me, not Jak. Whoops.

I grew up as a middle kid. I feel like that's why I'm so childish and quiet. I like designing things though, like airships! I love airships. I want to make an interstellar airship, like with its own atmosphere and it's own gravity, a space cruise ship! It would be beautiful...

Abney is a very spacey boy. Well, he loves space, but he doesn't have the best memory and has a hard time focusing. His sleeping habits make him rather slow and sheepish. It makes him rather susceptible to depression too. He's a great kid, but he really isn't the healthiest mentally.
