Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.
[list]Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sentient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.

Prompt;; The Unrequited love poem
You're a Masterpiece
a Light in my world
delicate like a Flower
and Sweet as Honey
i want to call you Mine
though i understand
if you say no
don't be scared to
i'll leave You alone
Lasse blinked at the paper. It was shoved in his messenger bag when he got home, meaning someone obviously did it when he wasn't paying attention. He noticed some writing on the back and flipped the sheet.
meet me at the pond tomorrow at with your answer?
Lasse knitted his brows together in confusion. How was he supposed to have an answer when he had no idea who wrote it?
He thought over it all night. All night. Who could it be?
Come morning, he hadn't slept at all, but he wanted to meet this stranger at the pond.
Lasse got ready to go, even fixing his hair. He needed to look nice, like he wasn't running on a 5-Hour Energy and a Monster. Like he actually slept.
He was happy to get out of his house, though. It was suffocating, how his thoughts trapped him when he was inside. Now, though, he could get a fresh breath of air.
He arrived to the pond and sat for a while. He watched a mother duck with her babies, a goose nipping a young boy's hand for trying to give it food, a shy-looking kalon walking up the path...oh! That must be them.
Lasse stood, furrowing his brow again. He didn't recognize them, but he did know that he wasn't going to let them down hard.
"H-hello," the shy kalon greeted. The poor dear, she was shaking!
Lasse smiled warmly, hoping to settle her nerves. "Hello. Are you the one who wrote the poem?" When she nodded, he paused. How to let her down easy...
...what better way than replying with a poem?
He cleared his throat before starting his free verse.
"You're words flattered me / but I have to let you know / I'm sorry, I don't like you / but don't be upset!
I promise you'll find / a boy better than me. / You're as sweet as sugar / and pretty as a pearl!
I'm sorry I don't like you / but listen to me / you'll find a boy soon, / just you wait and see."
Lasse knew he was probably blushing. He wasn't very good at poetry. Did this work to gently let her know the feelings were unrequited?
"Thank you."
...seems they did.
The girl smiled at him, even if somewhat sadly.
"You're a great poet," she started, lowering her gaze. "And I have to thank you. You even complimented me..! Ah..thank you."
Lasse wanted to reply, but the girl ran away before he could. He had to wonder...did she honestly think it was nice?
He wondered how she ended up. Did she find the boy she deserved? Did she end up happy?
Lasse went back to the park a few months later and sat at the pond. He saw a duck and her babies, a goose and a little girl, and a familiar kalon walking with another boy.
Seems she took his advice. Seems she found her happiness.
That was satisfying for Lasse to know. He smiled, standing to go home. He left, walking with a bit of a bounce to his step. The girl deserved to be happy.

Prompt;; The Unrequited love poem
I used to be red.
The color of red sunsets, roses, & hearts.
The color of the glowing sun high above us.
Lipstick, glitter, & excitement.
I was all the kisses stolen from you.
It was the color of love.
Everyone loved the color of red.
It was the color of joy.
Everyone loved it,
but you.
It was too bright for your eyes.
& Never, had red been an uglier color.
& I begged the ashen sky for you to love me.
& what the goddess gave me in return,
was the blank stare of nothingness.
No love, no excitement.
Nothing.
What was once a vibrant color,
was now a pitied black.
& I hoped, that this was your color.
But what you never told me was that
You never really did like colors that much.

Kalon Name;;Hendrick LynnKalon Gender;;MaleThe Unrequited love poemWherever you may land
How far you may go
Please remember that
You will always have a home
It may not be perfect
I may not be the one
To take those tears
When you wish to fly
From these dark times
I do recall this
You'd stand there by the door
Watching the doornob turn
It was not me your wanted
It was not me who could open it
It was rather more then it seems
More then i could dream it to be
Only you could find yourself
To brave that cold, lifeless wall
To find a way out
So that your pretty wings
Could finally open up
And so i say this to you
How far you may go
No matter how long its been
I will always be waiting
With small hope of your return
Even if the memory of me
Escapes your thoughts...
