Monty barked at the AI and ran towards Nicholas. The little corgi whimpered and ran back to the door where Rikimaru's calls could be heard. "Monty? Come here boy."

After scratching at the door for a moment he looked back at the two humans in the room. One was laying on a bed and smelled like blood, but the other seemed nice. He whimpered some more, ears drooping sadly as he listened to his master's calls from the other side of the door.

Theo carefully placed a hand on Wesley's shoulder. He wasn't sure if she was injured... physically anyway. "It was a freak occurrence," he assured her "you followed your training to a tee, and when we get home, I'm sure you'll be decorated for you valor in the face of adversity." He tried to stay professional, but this was all too much, even for him. He gently scooped up the girl. As the father of a daughter, he remembered how his little girl, now grown and gone, used to cry for him when she was small and scared. He felt that same urge to comfort this girl now. He hugged her and patted her hair, like he did so long ago with his own child. Regulations be damned. They didn't take into account a complete and disastrous break down of a mission like this. So, he simply rocked her, murmuring soft encouragements to her. There was nothing else he could do.

(No worries. I never format! )
Reinen saw light creep in as a door was forced open. One of the crew had entered. He couldn't see who it was from his trapped position on the floor, but he was sure it was one of the humans. He heard Monty being called back and the tapping of his claws on the floor.
"I'm over here..." he tried to yell. His throat was too dry. He could barely whisper it. "Help, I'm over here."

[Nicholas]

Surprisingly enough, his communicator device was still functioning, despite its broken state. Clicking the button, he struggles to speak into the speaker. "This is engineer Frost and I am not dead." he says bluntly, feeling a sort of stale humour to his words as he watches the AI move to the door. "Its not that bad, really. " He tries to reassure her as he touches the metal shard, wincing as he really looks at it closely. "Ugh, I can handle it." he lies, suppressing a gag as he realizes its bleeding pretty bad.

"Yeah, maybe don't mess with that," Minerva said, quickly descending to take a better look at the wound. "I've got some basic medical subroutines, but I'm not sure that'll cover it. Still, since we apparently don't have a doctor, I guess I'll have to do." Buzzing inside the medbay, Minerva swept the debris and clutter off one of the intact examination tables and buzzed up her hologram. "Lay down here and try not to move too much," she said, "I'm gonna try to find some supplies. If there are any."

The feel of Theo's arms around her, along with his soft words of encouragement, were the final cracks that broke Wesley's emotional dam. A choked sob escaped her throat, and she buried her head in the captain's shoulder, letting all her pent-up fear, guilt, and pain flow out, until there was nothing left. "We need..." She said, once she'd hiccuped herself into silence, "We need to... status report... missing sections... can you feel that?"
Outside the shattered bridge window, a small stand of straight, spiky objects could be seen, shillouetted against a rust-red sky. If Wesley had been a biologist, she might have assumed they were trees. Which, in fact, they were. All she noticed, though, was that they were shaking.

And so was the ship.

[Nicholas]

He chuckles tiredly at her words before following her. Hobbling awkwardly into the medbay, he seats himself on the table. Doing as he was told he grabs his leg and swings it over the table before grabbing his injured leg and doing the same. Laying down, he runs a hand through his messy hair. "Just do what you have to do, Doc." he says jokingly, Glancing over at Minerva before resting his head onto the table. "How much will it hurt?" he asks, seeing as he was a bit of a wimp towards these sorts of things. "Thanks, by the way." he calls to ner after a moment of silence.

Reinen noticed the crew member walking in and sitting down on one of the only bolted down seats. The crew member had the owl AI with him. Reinen tried calling for help again but could only produce a hoarse rasp. He searched around for something to throw. Some medical instruments lay close by. With his free hand he reached for the instruments. The strain made his pinned arm and head wound throb. He managed to grab a depressor and threw it as best as he could in the general direction of the crew member.

Rikimaru was beyond thankful to see another person, but upon seeing their state their relief turned into a regular dose of stoicism as they began to assess the wounds. He had a head wound, just like...
Reinen! He was still strapped to the bed, but something large and metal was pinning him. They saw him feebly move and, now invigorated to help a fellow crew member survive, moved in to pull the metallic lug off their medic.

(With how much Riki is doing for Reinen I'm starting to ship it.)

Artemis

The chemist groaned and half-fell, half-dragged herself out of the quarantine chamber. Everything hurt, and that wasn't an understatement. In fact, she was pretty sure her flesh arm was broken, considering the fact that it was hanging at a ninety-degree angle in the wrong direction. ...Wow. That lab wasn't gonna be making a comeback any time soon. Speaking of which, did that mean the rest of the ship was in a similar state? And what about the people.... Oh. My. God. August. Ohhhh no, this was bad. The guy couldn't even handle a hoverboarding wipeout; what if he'd been badly injured?! Where is he? Gen lab, right? But wouldn't everyone go to Aries? Oh God, everyone probably isn't even twenty people! ...No, no, hush, Artemis, it can't be that bad. We don't need two overly paranoid twins here.
Long story short: It was that bad. Seven humans confirmed alive. The contents of her stomach were long gone by the time Artemis stumbled into the cockpit to witness the few survivors. And like the icing on the cake, her brother wasn't one of them.
(Oh wow, so many people posted! I need to keep better track of my own rp!)

"Hello? Anyone there?"

No reply.

Well. What now?

Thue hammered on the sliding door an extra time for good measure. It had a tendency of jamming, but they were quite sure that this wasn't the problem this time around. The light in the small cabin kept flickering on and off, periodically illuminating the mess the room had been reduced to: Pillows and bedding had been flung from the two bunks; books and electronics were scattered on the floor, most whole but a lot broken in pieces; the table and chairs were upturned; in the corner a teenager was splayed out on the floor with a gaming console in their hands and a dumbfounded expression on their face. Of course, that last part was nothing out of the ordinary.

Thue picked up their laptop from the floor and held their breath as they hit its power button. To their relief, it turned on without issue, but it seemed unable to connect to the Zodiac's main system. Which meant no way of checking on the AI network. And no way of finding out if anyone else were alive.

Closing the lid of the laptop, Thue looked around the room, their gaze eventually landing on a hole in the ceiling through which daylight fell into the room.

"Hey, Puaq," they said without looking away from the hole, "Tror du at du kan komme igennem dét hul?"

The teen looked up, hestitating before answering, "Okay, TJ, I have no idea what you just said."

Thue glanced at their kid, not sure if they were more annoyed by their lacking language proficiency or their insistence on calling them 'TJ'. They sighed and switched to English:

"I asked if you think you can squeeze through this hole up here. We need to find out where we are."

Puck followed Thue's pointing finger and got to their feet, "Through--you mean go outside!? But we have no idea what's out there, what if I get eaten by an alien or if the air is poisonous or something?"

"The alternative is staying in here indefinitely," Thue pointed out. "And don't worry, the atmosphere of wherever we are has already entered the room, so if it could kill us, we would be dead. I'm not asking you to go explore an unknown planet on your own, I just want you to climb outside and see if you can spot anyone."

"Anyone ..."

"Any humans, Puaq. Crew members."

"Fine," Puck finally conceded, letting Thue give them a boost to crawl through the narrow opening. They had to suck in their belly to get through, but the sight that met them outside would have knocked the air out of them anyway.

I'm on a different planet, they thought to themself as the realization hit them properly. They sat quietly on the metal roof, still slightly warm from the impact, as they took in the alien landscape with a fluttering lumb in their throat and their heart hammering in their chest. As far as they could see, Scorpio had been completely separated from the rest of the ship. Bits and scraps were spread around them, some smoking lightly. It wasn't until Thue called out to them from below that they remembered that they were supposed to look for people; but no one was in sight.

They raised their hands to their mouth and shouted out: "HELLO? WE NEED HELP, PLEASE!"
