Name: Faetine
Summer Activity: Faetine usually spends her time on the beach, collecting stones and making flower crowns out of the most bright or most beautiful flowers she can find.
On this particular summer day, Faetine perched upon a rock with her tail dangling down in the soft sand. The Viscet was calmly gazing out at the large, circular lake before her. The gentle calls of birds in the trees, mixed with the faint thundering sound of the waterfall nearby set a gentle tone to the scene.
It was not odd for humans to come to this lake, as there happened to be a few man-made trails that wound right past the area, just out of sight- and those who did end up at the body of water just so happened to be lost because they stepped off the trails.
Faetine lifted her ears as she heard the crunches of footsteps echoing through the dense trees.
Soon enough she spotted two kids stumble their way into the clearing around the edge of the lake, a boy and a girl. The boy looked a little bit older than the girl, and they seemed to be siblings. The girl was crying, hard, and wailed something at her brother.
The older brother looked very distraught and scared, and was trying to get her to calm down... and without much luck.
The Viscet slid off of the rock she sat on and slowly made her way over to the two human children, ears forward and tail up. At first the two kids seemed terrified of Faetine, and they backed up a ways, but then they decided to trust Faetine after she left and came back with some flower crowns she had made earlier for any passing strangers she may come across.
The little girl ceased crying, and took a crown with purple pansy flowers, and the boy would hesitantly take one with daisies before he put it on and grinned at the Viscet.
Faetine made a beckoning motion with her tail and started walking in the direction of the nearest trail they had come from. When they got out onto the path there was a man and a woman who were calling and looking around in the trees, like they had lost something.
The two kids suddenly started yelling, running over to the older humans. The parents hugged their kids, crying, and noticed the flower crowns, looking back the way their children came until they saw Faetine, who wagged her tail and then vanished into the bushes again.

While this may be deemed a childish activity, it holds a special meaning to Mentari. As a Viscling, it used to be her favorite thing to do with her grandmother. The PastA Viscling with orange fur was sitting next to the rolling waves. She had a bucket in one paw and a shovel in the other. A happy smile lit up her face. Gently setting down her toys to one side, the Viscling began to scoop up damp sand. Her tiny paws worked in such a delicate motion to create a work of art from the sand she scooped up. Her pink eyes gleamed in delight as her creation started to take shape. "Alright," she said, "We just need to give you a couple of towers." Scooping up some wet sand with her shovel, she filled up her bucket. Then, she turned it upside down and placed it near her construction work, creating a small sand tower.
However, suddenly, a wave shot out from the sea and crashed right into the foundation of her creation. "Oh no!" she screamed, as the water pulled back into the sea. She sat there, staring at her once-marvelous work of art, now reduced to nothing but a mound of wet sand. The young Viscling was crushed, but she did not cry. She only stared at the mound of sand in disbelief.
An elderly Viscet came. She smiled down at the upset orange Viscling. Then, sitting down next to her, she gently stroked the Viscling's head. "There, there, little Mentari. There's no need to be upset," she said.
"But, my sandcastle just got knocked down!" Mentari said.
"How about we build another one together? We can build a castle fit for kings!"
"Really, Granny?"
Mentari's grandmother nodded. Mentari let a smile back onto her face as she was led to another spot safe from waves. Together, they built a magnificent sandcastle, laughing as they did so. Her grandmother put miniature wooden horses in the stables, and Mentari decorated the building with seashells. Afterwards, they pretended to be royalty. It was a very fun time, one that Mentari would cherish until adulthood.PresentMentari was walking along the beach, carrying a pail and a shovel. She sat down next to the rolling waves and began to scoop up some wet sand, when she heard the disheartened sobs of a Viscling nearby. Curious, she looked around and saw a Viscling sitting next to the rolling waves, with a shapeless mound of sand in front of him. Mentari instantly knew what had happened, and memories of a long time ago replayed in her mind. She walked towards the Viscling and smiled gently at him. "There, there, little one," she said. "It's alright."
"No, it's not!"
"How about we build a new sandcastle? A castle fit for kings?"
"Really?"
Mentari nodded, and led him to another spot. Then, they started to build a new sandcastle, laughing and smiling as they did so.Word Count: 500/500 (including the words "The Past" and "Present")
