Rank:
Tracker
Personality:
Alert
Damsel had always had keen senses. She could be woken from her sleep by the slightest of sounds, or see prey move from a mile away. She uses her physical senses to warn other of nearby dangers and such. However, her alertness also helps her see the beauty in everyday things and it often helps her solve problems that others cannot.----------------------------------
Daring
Damsel wasn't always this way, but since hiding herself under Oriel's wing, she started to become more brazen with danger. This could have both positive and negative effects. Damsel could either head into trouble that she cannot get herself out of or she could have the time of her life by taking risks. Either way, she no longer lets fear get in her way.----------------------------------
Impressionable
At one point, Damsel used to be fearful and insecure. She never wanted to leave the comfort of her den, though she always fantasized how her life would be if she were the opposite. Once her adopted big sister came into her life, everything changed for her. She was able to walk in Oriel's footprints until she found her own fire within. She doesn't look up to everyone but when she does, that lion becomes a role model.----------------------------------
Critical
Damsel does her job as tracker well. She is often willing to pick up slack from other members of the pride as well, never hesitating to show them "how it's done". She will look up to those who go above and beyond but she will also frown upon those who remind her of cub self, when she rarely left her den. However, she does not hold grudges towards these lions; she only thinks for the moment.----------------------------------
Tactless
Going hand in hand with her criticizing, Damsel does not hold back when it comes to speaking her mind. Unfortunately, her blunt honesty often offends others, but she rarely thinks anything of it and gets surprised when they get angry with her. Because Damsel thrives on others pointing out her faults and using it as constructive criticism, she feels others should do the same, thus never holding back.Relationships:
MephistoMephisto is a brute. Rude, unsympathetic and chaotic. Damsel doesn't like how he goes around acting like King of the Pride and bending anyone he can to his will. Sometimes she teases him when others are around, just in case she needs a group to come to her rescue in case he attacks her for it. She is intimidated around him, but her stubborn and grudge-holding side takes over when she comes in contact with Mephistopheles.----------------------------------
RenoThe younger lion could get on Damsel's nerves at times. Their relationship is unusual, as sometimes they hate each other while other times the two can't part ways. She loves the way Reno could be laid-back and seem so full of himself--an energy she admires, but she can't stand when he takes it too far and becomes almost sadistic. She is usually able to at least tolerate him, but in good moods she adores the cub.
----------------------------------
OrielSince Oriel entered the pride, Damsel has looked up to her like an older sister. Before meeting her, she was almost afraid to test her limits, but Oriel showed her what confidence and ambition can do to make one great. Although not official, Oriel was almost like a mentor in Damsel's eyes and she strives to learn everything she can from the older lion's heart.Story:
Lost in a Heartbeat
Never did I expect this to go well. I knew I should have stayed home. My parents wanted to show me how the new pride worked. They knew that one day I would be deemed a tracker like them and wanted to prepare me. Reluctantly, I followed them as they instructed, almost begged me, coaxed me, out of the safety of the den. What a huge mistake.
I woke up, light headed and dizzy, my eyesight slowly coming back to me from a black haze. The smell of blood hit me like a wave. The last thing I remembered was being thrown aside by my mother as my father dashed away, fangs bared, to fight.
My mother approached me as I began regaining conciseness and panic weighed heavily on me. With great effort, I croaked out "Mom?" She didn't reply; she only licked my furry cheek before collapsing at my side. Tears flowed down my face as soon as the realization hit me. My mother just died.
I dragged my aching body against hers and absorbed all the remaining body heat I could from her. I inhaled her scent. It was the last time I would see her, for sure. All I hoped at that point was that Father would come and make it all better, maybe shake me from this nightmare, but he never came.
Another lion, one sent to search for us I assumed, came by instead. He took one look at the scene and picked me up hastily. I struggled as he grabbed my scruff "No! Mom! Mommy!" I screamed as my claws were pulled from her pelt by the other lion and he took me back to the Pride lands.
For many months I was quiet and left my den even less often than I had before. Any confidence I once had was lost in a heartbeat, that day my parents were killed. I watched as new lions were born and outsiders were taken in. I quickly took a liking to one female, Oriel. She always seemed to have this fire about her, and not just the physical flames around her neck. Her soul was a furnace. At this point, I was fully grown, maybe even close to this new outsider's age. Cautiously, I approached her. She gave me this look of pity, one I did not expect, but it made me straighten up instantly. I held my head high and Oriel's gaze softened. "Damsel, you?" I asked simply. Her reply was just as plain "Oriel."
I watched Oriel train often. She was new to our pride and something about her just drew me in. I was awed by her skills. She was able to perform such excruciating tasks with ease-- something I could never imagine doing. Seeing her pin a large male lion to the ground snapped something in my mind. I was alone, eating myself away with darkness as my past enveloped me. Oriel, though, blazed with life. I wanted that. I was practically dead, and she was alive. After her training, I walked up to her, this time my confidence was for real.
"I want you to teach me some of those things."
"What things?" She gave a chuckle and furrowed her brow.
"Anything. That stuff you just did. To fight, to hunt... I know I'm a tracker but I want to do other things too. You know...." I slowly, and with a heavy burden on my chest, spilled my heart out to Oriel. I told her what had happened to me as a cub.
She scoffed "stop feeling so sorry for yourself. Until you do, I can't teach you anything."
I wasn't expecting that sort of reply. No sympathy, no comfort. However, it was far from hurtful. I knew I couldn't accomplish anything unless I let my past harden me. I can't be afraid anymore.
And just like that, my soul was back in a heartbeat.
Oriel and I worked hard to train. Since we were both busy with our own separate tasks, I often just joined her in training sessions. "Hmph, you know I got you this time!" I sneered as we were about to face off.
She gave a confident smirk and simply said "We'll see" and she lunged forward.
I managed to lock her scruff in my jaws, but she quickly turned the tables, heaving her shoulder under my ribs and forcing me to lose balance, falling to the ground. Her swift movements never ceased to amaze me as she had me pinned within seconds.
I growled in defeat. "I'll beat you some day, mark my words!"
I had a strange feeling that one day this training would pay off...
I was scared. I wanted to take up a task that I wouldn't normally do. Because of the heaviness of the hunt, volunteers were allowed to accompany the search. A group of lions went missing and we needed to find them. The mission was simple-- track them down. Some warriors were with us just in case a fight broke out, but the situation was heavily underestimated. Being good at what we did, some trackers and hunters took up the task of tracing where the missing lions were. Well, we found them, at least parts of them... Locks of fur, splashes of blood and deep claw marks littered the ground. I backed away as I heard a deep growl come from nearby. I ran, along with everyone else who wasn't a fighter, on instinct. We hid in the tall grass as we watched a battle commence. Some of the hunters had completely fled the area, back to the Pride lands and left the others to finish the task. However, I felt something, like a brooding, dark feeling as my eyes took in the situation. The fighters were outnumbered. The weaker lions were struggling and those non-warriors were nowhere in sight. Only a few scouts remained at my side.
"Listen." I stared, whispering but firm. "We don't do something, we lose all those allies." I watched as they stared at me stunned. "Here's the deal..." I hastily ran a plan by them without giving anyone the choice to defy the order I had just gave. "Now go. Go!" I nudged at the lions, afraid and trembling, as they moved into position. As the final members encircled the battlefield, I gave the signal and jumped out of hiding. The rest followed, engulfing the field that was our arena. Startled, the enemy had no idea who to focus on. As far as they knew, the warriors had just gotten in reinforcements. As we bit, clawed, and overall distracted them, the real fighters were able to make their final kills. Victory had been achieved, with the worst being some bad injuries to my fellow allies.
A sort of pride welled up inside me. My parents' spirits were still with me. I had the same bravery they had, and the fire within Oriel had spread to my cold ashes. I felt reborn and more alive than ever as I helped the injured back to the dens.Art:
By MeBy MeArmor Concept:
A tracker should have something light to cover the entire body. They do not go into battle regularly, so it is not necessary to give them full on metal gear. Damsel's armor consists mostly of leather. It is light compared to most and covers much of her body. This way jagged objects will not harm her and if she does run into trouble then the leather will be protection enough to keep her safe. The fabric at and feathers only act as a guard to her hind legs and neck. Leather plates would hinder movement too much considering the neck and legs require much more movement so durable cloth and down feathers act as her shield in these areas of her body. The final bits of her armor are the tidbits of metal-- helmet and small leg guards. The guards actually act as support for her legs and paws, ensuring that a misstep or attack will never hinder her job. The helmet was needed to protect her skull if anything that could put her in danger happens.

*I took out the theme song because after developing her personality and story, I felt it didn't fit her anymore. Apparently, a few others thought the same so I figured it was best to remove it because it probably would have hurt more than helped my form. Thank you for understanding!

Just a note to contestants; things such as "moves" and extras will be used as tie-breakers between forms. I will be mainly judging on name, personality, and history. <33

I must admit, I was disappoint that were not more completed forms for this girl than there were. I was looking forward to really judging, but c'est la vie. I'll get my chance. One day.
On to our winner!
Congrats to Alaric Glockner!
While in the beginning stages of your form was not too impressed, I have to say you did a mighty fine job with the end result. Your story was my favorite part. It short, and I didn't feel overwhelmed with a wall of text. It was nice as well. I look forward to the future development you give this girl.
I would also like to give an honorable mention to Queen Chrysalis. I would have loved to have seen your form completed. I really liked the name you chose, and the story held real potential. I wish you the best of luck in future competitions.

Yaay~ thank you willow!!
Yeah I just built it from a weak skeletal structure... So it wasn't meant to be great at the start lol. Glad it turned out to meet your expectations.
Good luck to Queen Chrysalis in future competitions!! If you want help with any adopts, maybe I can do a piece of art for you to help <3
I will take good care of Damsel! I have high expectations for her!
