Their Biggest Nightmare:
"Good night!"
"Good night."
"Sleep tight!"
"Sleep tight."
The door creaked as it was gradually closed by Raku's friend in a most unsettling manner. Raku simply sighed as he pulled the blankets up. Today had been exhausting. The Kalon had experienced his first ever roller coaster ride despite his age, and dang, was it colorful! Terrifying to the Kalon mostly, however. Raku yawned and shut his eyes closed. "Good night.." He whispered to himself as his consciousness fled to a new land.
The Kalon was in a vast, grassy field at the carnival. "Pfft, this again? Really?" Raku could only notice a few differences in detail here and there, but it seemed as if he'd have the same day all over again in this dream. But little did he know, this was certainly no dream. Raku trotted past the different attractions he'd deemed as unimportant or too boring, failing to notice the simplest, but creepiest details of what this dream was turning into. The faces of those who'd run rides and those who'd sell admission tickets were an eerie blur of blacks and whites - glitchy, even. Raku was caught up by the view of the rollercoaster, however. "Wait a moment...." He started, perplexed and unsure about how to feel. "Is that... Ink?" The rollercoaster of which he rode was dripping a black, gooey substance of which would seemingly never run short. The sky dimmed to a dismal dark gray and purples, and sorry clouds swarmed over the carnival. Raku looked up at the sky in shock that the mood of everything has changed so quickly. Something wasn't right. No. Clouds spelled out "R U N". By now, Raku's hair bristled in fright as he started running for the exit of this terrifying place. The ride owners and ticket sellers came out of what seemed like nowhere and attempted to grab the Kalon - one of which tripped Raku and sent this "dream" into the next level...
....
Raku stood up swiftly in sheer terror. Everything was incorrect. Nothing looked sane. The ground was neon pink. The sky was pure black with nothing else to fill it. The rides were every other neon color imaginable. Raku's heart beat violently against his chest. He hasn't even progressed towards the exit. He was in front of the roller coaster. There was no more goo, but the roller coaster ended up being even more frightening. "See the world from the above, Raku. Have fun, Raku." The rollercoaster was speaking now! It sprouted two terrifying, gooey arms of what seemed to be ink and grabbed the poor Kalon who wanted nothing more than to be away from this place. As soon as he'd been forcefully seated, things went downhill even more. Literally. The neon-colored rollercoaster sunk into the ground as distorted voices echoed. "HAVE FUN, RAKU. WHY ARE YOU NOT HAVING FUN. HAVE FUN RAKU, HAVE FUN, HAVE-
wAKE UP!!!!!"
Raku woke up in a flash as he made out the last bit of words that successfully got him out of this 'hell'. Tears welled up in the Kalon's eyes as he barely could tell what had even happened. It was perhaps, too much to even comprehend.
"Woah, man, you a'ight??"
"Yeah.. Bad dream. A rollercoaster talked to me." Raku tried to laugh off as he wheezed and wiped away the thin layer of tears that his eyes involuntarily built.
"No more carnivals. Ever. Again. In my life."
