As astronomical twilight fell upon the sky the remaining light of day had faded, cloaked by the darkness of the moon.
One laid awake, unable to rest among the others under the same sky as night fell. Troubled by thoughts and her own bodies
uneasiness behavior she sighed quietly, the song wasn't working, counting wasn't working, pretending to sleep wasn't working..The
darkness seemed to be creeping down the walls, oozing onto the floor not allowing the normal shine to show through the curtain cracks. Stardust sighed, she hated this, night terrors threat at every corner of this room, no room to breath..No room to dream..No room to be free. The darkness seemed suffocating at this point and sleep seemed a distant dream at the moment. She lumbered out of her bed,to the window seeking light, but alas there was none.. Tree's blocked any hope of light reaching this desolate area, she could practically feel the darkness consuming her. Stardust slowly popped the window seal off, she wasn't looking for trouble..just freedom. Leaping from the small height, into the embrace of the nights beauty, the star's tender motherly light. Slowly leaning the window seal against the wall, the curtains blowing out of her room into the gentle breeze of the night. The tree's seemed to filter the light, causing the star's light to turn into little glowing speckles on the floor. Her heart and ears opened to the noises of the nightfall, the darkness becoming less claustrophobic, she let it embrace her, the noises of tree's rustling, the crickets, the wind blowing. Stardust had no clue where this was taking her but she felt one with the night, not a prisoner of the dark but one with it spreading light to the darkest of places. Stardust smiled softly as she came upon a clearing in the thick forest, a simple lake sat in the middle. The moon reflecting off of it, the stars seemingly like fish swimming in their natural habitat. If she were to lie on her back she wouldn't think she'd be able to tell if she was looking down or up. With the sky seeming like the ground and the ground seeming like the sky.. As she stood there, she decided to lay like so,her head in a angle where it seemed as if the earth and space has became one..The dark not so scary anymore..A peacefulness washed over Stardust as she laid there the tree's bellowing echo as wind passed them, the water softly rippling as the wind tousled the surface,Crickets chirping to each other in odd,but beautiful harmony of the night. She didn't know how long she'd laid there, but the moon was drifting away, stars saying their goodbyes with twinkling light, dawn beginning to show through. Stardust smiled softly, and slowly got up,her eyes feeling heavy, which she wasn't proud of but she was sure tired now if anything..After a long trek through the path she had followed to the lake she arrived back at her house..The darkness poured out the open window, the frame still where she left it..Stardust picked up the frame in her mouth and leaped up the short distance with ease, hardly scrapping the frame on the window. As she made her way towards her bed,the image came back to her, beckoning her to come back tonight, when the darkness is suffocating..when the nightmares are around the corner waiting.
