Companion: a miniature Zebu steer named AJ
Relationship with this tolter: AJ was a foster calf when his mom abandoned him soon after his birth. AJ shared a pasture along with Factor and some other cattle residents. AJ seemed to be fascinated with the tolter and started following the gentle stallion around wherever he went, making him his new surrogate mom. Factor doesn't seem to mind the small cow and even though AJ was only ment to be a foster, Coldwater Creek has now become AJ's permanent home and he seems to be fitting in perfectly. Factor and AJ are now inseparable and can often be found snoozing under a shade tree or the shelter.

Tarzan, affectionately dubbed 'twitchy', has always had a chronic case of an itchy back. Of course it isnt any sort of real disease, and no one really knows why hes so itchy, but thats just become who Twitchy is as a tolter. Ever since he was a foal he would get into the weirdest of situations in an attempt to scratch his back, whether it was dashing in between fence boards and getting his rump stuck, or rolling off the top of a hay stack in his itching fits against the rough straw. Though the strangest and perhaps most fascinating event in his foalhood was meeting the ranch's resident lizard - Barby. Barby (at the time at least) was a small iguana, who despite his caretakers best efforts simply could not stand being locked up indoors. The ranch hands were constantly finding little Barby zipping about in the barn, knocking items off shelves and spooking the horses, driving everyone as insane as they were dealing with Twitchy's antics. Eventually though they gave up, set up a large habitat outside in the yard, and left Barby to his own devices. Twitchy was absolutely mesmerized by the little lizard, which kept everyone happy - except Barby. The lizard, now growing quickly in size, despised the nosy foal. He would zip about his habitat, flicking his tail through the bars, slashing at the horses muzzle with his claws, all of which just made Twitchy more interested. Eventually the day came along when Barby was big and strong enough to actually break out of the meager cage - and Twitchy was his first target. He sprang onto the colt's back, dug his claws in, and held tight. At first Twitchy was horrified - he galloped fast as he could through the fields surrounding the ranch, darting between orchard trees, dodging slow moving cattle in the neighboring pens. It was a few good hours before he finally grew tired enough to stop - and realize Barby's claws didnt hurt as bad as he thought they would. In fact, it kinda felt good. Twitchy turned to the lizard, poking his nose at the slobbering green beast, and whinnied nice and loud. Barby snapped at him and wiggled about, digging at the horses back. Twitchy was practically purring in happiness, and pranced about barnyard letting everyone know how happy he was. The owners found the pairing pretty darn funny, and decided that, along with a little supervision, having the two play together would be a lovely idea for the both of them. Having such a close companion over the years seemed to calm Barby, and having his back scratched so wonderfully helped Twitchy stop...well, twitching. As they grew older and Barby grew ten times his size, the two only grew closer. They were inseparable.
