What are Sleepy Dragons?


Sleepy Dragons are a small species of dragon that prefer to find tiny, hidden locations to take naps in. Due to their elusive nature and constant pursue of the perfect sleep, it is often difficult to find them.

Siren has always loved the ocean and the beach, just floating on the water or listening to the waves crash against the shore. Like her namesake, one of her favorite activities is to sing while she's floating, though she doesn't ever sing around others, since she's pretty self conscious of her voice. Her favorite songs to sing are lullabies because of how soft and soothing they sound, and how long the notes can be drawn out.
There's been many times where Siren has tied an anchor to her tube float and let herself take a nap on the water, the rhythmic waves lulling her to sleep with the gentle rocking back and forth. She would live in the water if she could! Many of her dreams involve exploring underwater, and likewise, even when awake she's been learning to snorkel so she can see all the fish that swim by underwater.
She's seen a lot of stingray lately, and though they kind of scare her, she loves watching them swim. They swim through the water so effortlessly, and it honestly makes her a little jealous.

Normally, Siren is a pretty laid back girl, letting things roll off her like water on a duck's back, so to say. She tends to be caring and protective of those she cares about, and even more so about the water and it's environment. There's been a lot of times where she's seen someone littering and gone over to them to give them an earful! Which is surprising given the fact she's usually quiet!

Bliss is an extremely peaceful and lazy
dragon. They are very slow, enjoying small
trudges in the sand and long naps under
palm trees on the beach. Often times bugs
(butterflies) and flowers fall on them while
they're sleeping. They hardly notice,
letting them take a ride on their back and
eventually leading back to Tanya's
smoothie hut along the shore. Tanya likes
feeding all the animals on the beach,
keeping Bliss a returning customer. They
often fall asleep in her coconut bowls after
eating her fruit smoothies, and lay in the
bundles of straw she keeps for roofing.

Bliss tends to fall asleep nearly everywhere. If there’s a place they
haven’t gotten to- best bet they’ll hit it tomorrow. Up in a tree,
under a rock, over the river and through the woods. You name it.
Sometimes, they even fall asleep floating in the water- and are found
by Icarus, Chad, Delilah and Shax while out sailing and are returned to
Tanya on the beach to be kept an eye on. Bliss and Tanya seem to have
such a good friendship, that passing customers to her business almost
perceive them as some sort of pet or mascot (like when certain stores
always bring their dog or bird to work). When locals find Bliss on the
beach, they’re very friendly toward them and bring them back to Tanya
after petting or playing with them for a while. Although, Tanya doesn’t
like calling Bliss a pet. She’d prefer them to be a peaceful, wandering
spirit. In fact, she doesn’t even know what gender Bliss is. She has no
idea. But that’s totally fine for the both of them, they love each other
and are true companions. In fact, Bliss might even trail home other
companions back with them (Tanya’s sushi slugs!)

LIKES // Bliss is very quiet and doesn't make much noise other than the occasional purr, chirp or growl-- and doesn't like loud noises either. Sounds like the rocking ocean, the crackling of a fire, trees swaying, or the strum of a deep acoustic guitar are their favorite things. Although a deep sleeper, when Bliss is awake they're easily frightened by sudden noises or movements. They love finding things on the beach- especially sea-glass, starfish, coconuts, people, and of course- good places to sleep! They love palm fronds, and often mistake Tanya's tail for one. Of the crewman on the pirate crew mentioned earlier, Icarus and especially Delilah take a good liking to them. When around Shax, Bliss being so small often tries to burrow in his thick fur coat. They also love food, (lots of fruits and different plants), honey, cuddles/pets/scratches, flowers, treasures washing in from the ocean, and the sunshine. They get along well with nearly all other animals- but especially with dolphins, frogs, axolotls and turtles.

DISLIKES // As said previously, Bliss really doesn't like sudden movements or noises. And although they like rain, they're very afraid of thunder and lightning. They're afraid of sea urchins, and most of the larger and more dangerous sea creatures like sharks and the like. They also hate pollution/smoke, hard/uncomfortable surfaces, and most of all- the cold. Bliss becomes extremely unhappy without a certain amount of sunshine a day.
