Short Story:

Once, there were two kalons. One of them was a girl, the other male. They had been the best of friends since they were kits. One of them was named Patch.

However, one day, Patch became very sick. Later, the town also became sick, which was discovered to be some sort of plague. The doctors had tried everything, even removing the infected parts, but it still spread. Eventually, she didn't make it.

On the next day, after her death, a mysterious kalon came to the town. Nobody else noticed it, except the kalon who was her best friend. When that kalon went up to him to ask what's wrong, he, overwhelmed by grief, said she had died. The mysterious kalon offered him a chance to revive her, in which he follow the steps. He accepted the offer, which then, the kalon dissappeared, never to be seen by him again.

Eventually, he had finished all the steps, with Patch looking good as new, besides the stitched on fabric on her. However, the deal from before had a catch; she would not come to life until he was dead, which he didn't know of this. He waited, but a few months later, he caught the plague that had took his best friend's life, and another month later, he had died. The kalons from their town knew that the plague was fatal to anyone that got it, and so they left. The town had become a ghost town, but there was still someone there...

The day after his death, plus when town became abandoned, Patch finally woke up. Her memories were still clear, but only up to the day before she caught the plague, which was the reason she found herself shocked when she had the sewn on parts on her. She then found the once noisy and lively town empty with an eerie mist.

Patch, worrying about the kalons in the town, set out to find them. More importantly, her best friend that would never leave her side was gone, which added to her determination to find him. Ghost town after ghost town, she now wanders, in search of her best friend, in which she didn't remember what happened.

Samantha is an outrageous, funny, and kind kalon who loves to make new things. Instead of hanging out with friends, she would rather paint, draw, knit, sew, or play an instrument. She is a master on the piano, and helps her local kindergarten's music teacher by playing music and singing along. She's also loyal, brave, and modest.

One day, Samantha was heading to the school for a command performance, ordered by the printable. They were great friends, she and him, but something told her to go back home. Its started to rain heavily, and the roads were very slippery. She took her time, but also with speed. Sam finally arrived home to see her garden swamped, her porch a swimming pool, and the basement flooded, but that wasn't important to her. She knew that there was a family of rabbn her backyard. Man she hoped they were OK! Sam quickly ran to, rather swam to, the burrow of which the rabbits lived.
It took a long time to find the hole, but she manged. She thought for a quick moment about the performance,but with this rain, she highly doubted it was still going to happen. She swam to the burrow that was barely above water. She dove down. When Samantha got her first glance, the rabbits were still in there. Quickly she got another breathe of air and dove back down. The rabbits were "swimming" to the top of the burrow to breathe, but one of the babies just couldn't hold on and descended into the cold water.
With the speed of an otter and the swiftness of a dolphin, Sam managed to scoop up the young rabbit. While she was closer to the other rabbits, she grabbed them too. She swam back to the surface and brought the rabbits to land. When she dried everyone off and places them in a basket with a blanket, she took the basket with her. She was still going to the school today, show or not.
When she arrived at the school, she was greeted by the kids who had to stay inside to avoid the rain. Happy to see everyone ok, she showed the kids the rabbits, which immediately brought up their spirits. Sam suggested that they should still do the show since she was there. She started playing the piano, and the kids sang the best they every have. When they finished singing, someone told them to check the window. The rain has stopped, and the sun was shinning brightly.

Suzette sighs, the breath flipping her hair up a fraction. Another visit to the doctor's office, another seemingly endless wait in the waiting room.

"Suzette?" A nurse Kalon calls, and Suzette nods slightly.

She walks slowly over to the nurse, who is waving her towards the single room in the tiny clinic. She heavily plants herself on the doctor's bed.

"Any aches or pains?" Asks the nurse.

"Not any more than usual." Replies Suzette, gesturing to the patched up area of her body. "I'm getting a lot better around smaller dogs, but large ones still scare me." She confides to the nurse.

"Well, thats good. Glad to see your healing in more ways than one."

as you can see from delilah's appearance, she's mostly
patches, stitches, she's hand-made. created by a lonely
kalon, she's stuffed with dried leavies. originally, she w
as simply a life-sized doll, then, she came to life. she l
oved her creator, but eventually, her creator perished.
she'd sing to her creator a certain song, but once he wa
s gone, she had no one to sing to, but, there was the pu
blic. though she was a stuffed doll who'd gained consci-
ousness, she mustered up the courage to go into public,
and she promised herself to entertain and sing for those
who passed by. originally a street performer, she even-
tually was noticed, and got more popular. finally, she
became a kalon who'd host a small show occasionally
in town, to entertain those who decided to come, and
it made her ever so happy, and still does to this day.
