Name: Royce
Gender: Male

Personality:
"Live each day to its fullest..."
Optimistic and cheerful, Royce is constantly seen with a smile on his face. He enjoys being a wanderer, meeting new viscets left and right; though...many aren't in the best mood when he introduces himself. This is because he almost always meets new friends by ignorantly waltzing into their territories, completely unaware of who lives there because of his unfortunate condition.
That is; he can't smell.

"A scattered spectrum..."
Royce doesn't mind his handicap; and is often confused if someone tries to talk to him about it. He prefers not to dwell on issues that he can't change. Instead, he enjoys the world as he experiences it. Royce is fascinated with colorful objects and tends to hold onto bright things that catch his eye. Very often, Royce will bring his bright collections to his friends, giving them away freely as tokens of his gratitude and lasting friendship. Unfortunately, only about half of these gifts actually make it to their recipients, as the only thing that outweighs his optimism is his clumsiness. If there is a single root or stone in his way, it's a guarantee that this guy will trip over it, so most of his presents are lost in his many tumbles.

It's very difficult to agitate Royce, or at least it seems to be. Usually he just laughs off anything that upsets him in public, then stews over them later once he's alone. It takes a few days, but he eventually forgives and forgets unless the conflict is simply too personal or the other viscet refuses to change their actions or let it go. He will not attack unless it is in self defense.
Relationships:
Whirlybird (Nephthys)

Tales of a beautiful cliffside sparked Royce's interest, and it wasn't long before he left his nest to try to claim this paradise as his own. It was a long journey, but the viscet eventually made it. In the light of the setting sun, he began to collect sticks and moss for a nice nest...only to be interrupted by a stern voice. It was upsetting at first to learn that the territory had already been claimed, but after a discussion about where he had come from and an explanation of why he couldn't smell that the area was obviously occupied Nephthys agreed to let him rest for the night and came to forgive him for trespassing. The pair chatted for a while, as Royce was amazed to see a winged viscet. The next day, Royce left, exploring the nearby mountains in the hopes of finding a better view.
Days later, a bruised Royce turned up in Nephthys' territory once again, holding a few bright gems and shiny metals. He gave them to her as a thanks for letting him stay, which surprised the winged viscet. He told her about his short quest and how he didn't feel right leaving her with nothing as a thanks. She invited him to stay a few more days, and the pair formed a close friendship (which mostly revolved around Nephthys saving him from falls and spills, with him bringing her presents, and keeping her laughing) littered with snarky banter and one-liners that quickly became endearing. Nephthys now gives him access to her territory, but he is only seen there occasionally, often being out travelling to see the world.
Pupper (Seabreeze)

Attempting to find a new place to settle down, Royce made his way from the cliffside, through a small wooded area, and finally to a beach. It was pretty enough, maybe he had finally found a new home. He traveled along the shoreline, collecting shells as he passed before he was startled by a small gurgle. Oh. That. Was his stomach. Looking into the shallows, a bunch of small fish could be seen. There were so many, they had to be easy prey, right?
Wrong.
Unfortunately, eventually a swipe at some of the little tasty fish ended up upsetting his balance. Royce was quickly head over heels in the water, and an unexpected tug carried him away from the shore. Fighting the current was no easy task, and the poor viscet watched as the safety of land grew further away. His paws struggled to keep him afloat; Royce was thrashing about trying to get back to the shore. Unexpectedly, in his endeavors, he eventually found something large and solid grab hold of his tail. Before he could understand what had happened, he was back on the shore with a dog-eared viscet looking down at him asking if he was okay.
One barrage of 'thank-you-for-saving-my-life's later, the female viscet introduced herself as Seabreeze. She quickly took him back to her nest, nestled between some trees overlooking the shore. Seabreeze helped to get him some food, and generally doted on him like a mother hen until she was certain he was okay. The pair were a bit awkward at talking to each other, but both of them could tell that the other meant no harm. He was invited to stay in the territory as long as needed, which eventually led to him returning there every month to visit with his new friend. The pair could often be seen cleaning up the beach, or undergoing swimming lessons just offshore. Royce thinks that she is a wonderful teacher, even if they can't communicate all that well. He has more fun just doing things in her company than trying to talk, so the pair make a very active exploration and rescue team when together.
