Cloverwhisper puffed out her fur to protect herself from the slight
breeze shed felt only seconds ago. She'd managed to do a full day's
work in no time. "Perhaps.. my apprentice is somewhere around
here..",her eyes lit up for a moment,"Or a kitten!" She peeked into
the nursery to check in with Swiftbreeze.

Timber -- she-cat [loner]
Timber shifted from her nest, catching a glance of what she assumed
was a rogue through the trees. It didn't bother her if there where cats
not in the clan around the area. However, she'd probably want to be
off of it for a short time. Timber shook out her pelt and headed toward
Cloudclan.

Foxclaw put his prey on the fresh-kill pile, and looked around camp. He spotted Rosekit and Squirrelkit poking their noses into the apprentice's den. "Hey, kits!" He called, then strode over to them, and picked up Squirrelkit, setting her down behind him. Rosekit scurried after her sister. He looked down at his kits, and a rush of love filled him. "You'll be apprentices soon, I promise. But not yet, so stay out. Understand?" They both nodded, and Squirrelkit opened her mouth, then closed it.

Rosekit lowered her head, and looked at her paws. They'd been caught just as she'd worried. And by their father too! She flicked her tail nervously over the ground, her eyes filled with shame.

Squirrelkit looked up at her father, opened her mouth to say something, but closed it, frustrated. Foxclaw tipped his head. "What is it Squirrelkit? What do you want to say?" She blinked once, then took a deep breath in. "Can you teach us then? So that we already know stuff when we become apprentices?" Foxclaw blinked in surprise, then nodded. "Okay! Glad to see you take an interest! Come on, I'll show you a hunting crouch." He turned to go, then looked back at his other daughter. "You wanna come?" Rosekit shook her head vigorously, then scampered off to the nursery. He shrugged.

Nightpaw trudged after her mentor, muttering under her breath, too quiet for him to hear.

Nightpaw stopped in her tracks. "Well, maybe you should be nicer to apprentices who've been left behind!" She froze, realizing her mistake of telling someone her feelings. "I'm going as fast as my tired paws can! So just stop!" She curled his lip with frustration. She was just so angry! "So just leave me alone! I bet you're nicer to other cats! Why are you so mean to me?"

Blackfur snarled, "If you're going to be that way, then you can mark the border yourself!" He flattened her ears Why is she so ignorant? he padded off on his way back to camp.

Nightpaw whirled around, and ran away, tears staining her face. Why did this always happen to her? No one liked her, and Breezeflower obviously didn't care if she left her sister behind. I'm just as good as her, if not better! Why was she made a warrior, and I wasn't? That's not fair! I'm way more skilled than she is! Thoughts raced through her head as she sped across the territory, barely noticing when she crossed the border.
