A lot of Plumerians tend to stay away from him because of his "menacing" body structure and knowing better than to pick a bone with him. Mark honestly would love to make friends, but he rather keep up his "tough image" than getting to know strangers.

Explanation:
Sonye is special because her fur is fire proof. She was bullied and mistreated for this constantly. Fire hurts her but cannot kill her. Fellow plumies would throw flaming sticks at her and watch as her fur caught fire then simmered out. When horrible scientists came to the school to collect a plumie to add to their specimen collection some plumerians pulled a prank on her by tying her outside so she couldn't hide. She was caged, beaten, starved and dehydrated. She lost hope and suffered her fate. One day she heard screams from down the hallway and felt the heat of a fire. A scientist desperate to save his many creatures hurried to unlock the cages. She took her chance to escape then. Unharmed by the flames she made it out and settled in a forest far far away. She realizes that if she are a normal plumie she would be dead. Isolated from other plumies she feels invisible, as no one knows she's alive. She herself forgets sometimes and has to remind herself that she's real. She can't bear to think about her depressing childhood and keeps away from any civilization.

Karis isn't very talkative, since she prefers to keep most of her thoughts to herself. She's a huge fan of the Harry Potter book series, not just because she loves the storyline, but also because the books are so long, giving her an excuse to be alone all day. Big books take a while to read, and Karis takes advantage of that.
