I tried to find the original but I can't seem to locate it, it's probably been too long. //D
There was this older story about a gang of friends who went down to the beach and liked sitting on the dock to let their feet dangle in the kelp. One day the group went down to the beach to find it closed off and discovered that a serial killer was dumping his victims within the water, several were found near the dock. The killer usually picked women as his victims, women with longer hair specifically. Needless to say, the ocean bed 'kelp' was not actually... well, kelp. The friends never went to that beach again as long as they lived.

There once was a mermaid that wanted to be with the humans on the surface, and walk on land. However, she was a mermaid and that was impossible. She then falls in love with a human Prince, when she saves him from drowning. Lovesick, she turns to a sea witch that her father banished, and strikes up a deal. The mermaid can become a human for three days, but to remain human she must receive true love's kiss from the Prince. The mermaid loses her voice in return, which is kept in a shell. The mermaid is found by the Prince and taken into his palace, but he doesn't know that she saved him. The sea witch transforms into a young woman and sings with the mermaid's voice, and the Prince thinks that the sea witch saved him, and marries her. The mermaid breaks the shell, gaining her voice again. The Prince goes to kiss the mermaid but then she turns back again. The sea witch then kidnaps the mermaid. To save his daughter, her father sacrifices himself and is turned into a polyp, and then the sea witch gains the merman's powers. The Prince eventually kills the sea witch by running through her with a ship. The mermaid's father turns her into a human, and the 'mermaid' and Prince live happily ever after.

Hmm, I wonder what tale that could be, it seems familiar.

Tell me an ocean legend! Nothing too creepy, just anything beach related. Myths and such. Must be cs appropriate in all respects: The Fortunate Isles, also known as the Isles of the Blessed, were thought to be where Greek mythological heroes stayed. They were paradises with no winters. The islands were apparently in the Atlantic Ocean, near the Canary Islands. It's thought that Macaronesia may be what is left of these islands.

For a few days, the beach and exploration are closed. However, daily question, daily raffles and the beach shop, adopts, and the swap shop will be open. I have to have a few days break and finish up some extra stuff for the next part of the event, so please be patient! This wait will be anywhere from three days to a week, although I'll try and have everything complete soon. Cheers!
