Venom and psychic
Personal: (I just want to say before I start Wink and Zach, that I have stalked both of y'alls art since before I found Parrapups, which was forever ago, and I really look up to you guys as artistic role-models; please don't think I'm weird now, haha)The first time I had ever layed eyes on a goblin gator was when y'all made the Halloween event GGs. I was a bit hesitant about them at first, since it was an event and I had never even seen a 'normal design' of them before hand. I was afraid that Goblin Gators would be like other closed species/adoptables I have seen in the past where only the holiday designs would be good and that's it. I
think I may have tried out for one of the Halloween designs because I was curious, but I do 100% know I didn't win any. After a couple of days of thinking about the species non-stop (I have no idea why, I guess my brain was trying to tell me something, haha), I decided to read up more about them on the species info. After reading it, I was 100000% sold on the species; I had never seen a species before that used elements more for their rarity than edits, which in my honest opinion is freaking amazing because it gives the species a wide variety of individuality and spunk. Just all of the amazing possibilities that are floating around with the access of unlimited edits (not including the very rare edit rules) without having to worry about being told "You can't give it hair, that's an uncommon edit" or "You can't change it's facial structure, that's a super mega rare edit" is just absolutely perfect.~ Wink, I know I'm still going on about the edit thing, but I love how you can make GG's have different body types without it counting as a very rare edit, it makes me smile just thinking about how you put some real life aspects into your creation.
After reading about the elements and rarities, I wanted to learn more about them, but I was so early to the party, that there was literally nothing about them to read! (except for the rules and a tiny bit of the ABOUT section) But, I managed to live until you did post more things about them (the BEHAVIORS, and more in the ABOUT part), which I am very glad about! (I still can't wait for you to put out their LORE, Wink)
After all of my fuss for knowledge about this strange and interesting species from the depths of the
shrek swamps, I decided to tell my sister, Evils, about them. She seemed pretty interested in them, too, but no designs were available for adoption at the moment; the both of us just agreed to subscribe to the topic and wait for a new adopt to come out. Not too long later, (I think, it's been almost a year since these have been out) you guys put out a couple of designs, I tried out for like five of them with no luck; but then the moment I had been waiting for finally arrived, the staff batch. First seeing that cover made me happy, I knew it was going to be Undertale based and I couldn't wait. I told Evils about it, but she seemed far more hesitant than I did. I felt kinda alone; but I mean, who would blame her to be nervous? People were all over Undertale at the time. I didn't care if there might've been a swarm of people looking for those Goblin Gators only for their design, I was in it for a new character to build, a friend to draw when I needed someone to make me smile; a new, fresh face to tell a story with.
I waited, and I waited until you finally revealed your design, Wink. The Mettaton design. I fell in love with them right there and then! They didn't have any miraculous edits or anything, but I could see a funny, devious gg shining through the screen. I filled out my form and anxiously waited. As I waited, Zacharie released the Sans gg and Evils fell in love with them, but was so scared to try out that she flat out refused to make a form until I won a gg for them to be friends with. We both waited for the Mettaton based one's competition to be over, and when it did end, I was met with the splendid surprise of a second competition for the forms chosen who didn't win the first design. I was one of the three on the list. I basically flipped out because of two reasons: 1.) you thought what I put was funny, and 2.) I was given an opportunity to try out and show you my best. Golly, I worked as hard as I could, I drew even though I knew I couldn't draw too well on the internet, and I made pixels, I coded, and I wrote to my best ability; I had stepped so far out of line from what I was used to, that I had become so scared that another person was also working on their form as well. But as the competition went on further, I realized that there was nothing to be afraid of. It seems as though they had run out of time to do anything, or they had just given up.
When I won M.J., I can tell you that I was honestly surprised of how little competition I had; you had worked hard on making their design, and it was
your staff gg, so they must have meant something to you for you to make them. Same thing goes for Miss Pancake's contest. Sure, there were people trying out for that gg with (probably) good intentions on winning them and making someone interesting out of them, but when I saw that you could make art to show your silly phrases, I had to. I wanted to prove that I wanted him, and I guess I did (since they are mine now), but seeing that nobody else even tried to make art kinda made me sad. I was looking forward to seeing the other competitors' art, but when the working time was coming close to an end, I realized that nobody else was going to make any.
Now, before I get even more side tracked: When I won M.J., Evils had a little more confidence in her chances and decided, "Hey, my twin has a gg, why not get their gg a best friend." So, she slapped down a form and began working. She wrote what she felt best suited Sans, and she drew what she felt he would do. I really wanted to see what she would do with the little baby-handed wailord in the future, so I drew her some art, helped her with her writing punctuation
(which I am pretty sure I forgot over the time I have been out of school), and made her some gifs of the two strange friends. We were pretty happy with how it was turning out, but then we noticed Okamorei had joined and we nearly died of anxiety and doubt. They had fantastic art and could write so well, we were terrified that Zacharie would choose them for their art quality (which we could replicate in little to no way) like a few judges from other closed species that I have been to. After the time ended and the GG had been judged, we wanted to hunt down Zach and hug them for sticking to how they were going to primarily judge it; by the pun, which Zach had really liked Evils the best. After Evils had won Sans, we pretty much chattered non-stop about how she won him and how M.J. and Sans were gonna be best friends, and how if I got Agodo, they could all be friends.
(Evils cried, no joke) But there was one thing that really bothered the both of us, the way Okamorei took losing to us. At first they did seem a bit hurt, but they were willing to give Evils their art (which was like a dream to her, because she looked up to their art), but later on, she got a message saying that they would rather her not use their art, and then they deleted their entire form, replacing it with the simple word, "Congrats." We both honestly feel pretty awful for making them upset at us.
Now, here comes a long, confusing part.
I honestly can't remember when Tricksters finally gave into my constant begging for her to get a gg, but I do know that every single one she tried out for, she lost. Every time a Gator came out, I would tell her, but she seemed very uninterested, but I'm pretty sure losing every contest for a species your older sister dragged you in would lower my enthusiasm for trying out for any, too. After a long wait of trying out for every other couple of ggs since (I think) #19, I was browsing about the art section when I came across Goblin #53. I saw it was a fcfs contest, so I told Tricky about it, sent her the link, and she filled out the form. After winning Ghibli, I don't think she knew what to do, she kinda just sat there and wondered. I had to kinda laugh at her when she started talking about how interesting the species was and how she kind of wanted a friend for her cake baby. She had already made one artist tryout gg before she won Ghibli, but she was pretty much like, "Eh, I'll make another one, just 'cause" so she did. Not to long after that, she was hired, which I am still a little jealous of her for. I had been making entries far before her and joined in the community long before a large majority of the people, but seeing how happy she is and how excited she is to actually be working with you guys, I can't help but stuff my jealousy under the rug, because I know she deserves to be an artist for Goblin Gators, and not me. (I fully accept the fact that my chicken paint skills are rubbish compared to y'alls, haha)
It's been quite some time since Goblin Gators came out, and over the almost year, I have managed to be blessed with
10 beauties of my own, all so different in character and in appearance. I would just like to thank you Wink for putting this amazing species out to the public mind, you've allowed my mind to wonder so far with my new friends.
Evils and I like to tell these things simply called, "Stories", before we go to bed every night. Stories are when we take characters from a fandom we are in, or our own characters, and allow our minds to let the character do what they want/would do, not us. We are more like narrative spectators than absolute story tellers. "But why are you telling me this?" you might be asking, well, Evils and I have had such a hard time plugging into our own characters to make an on going story out of them until we found Goblin Gators. She was extremely hesitant to begin a tale with our GGs, saying no almost every time I asked her, but recently we had started a story with them, and we were both absolutely blown away with the out come. I had never had so much fun creating a world with my own characters since my weird Sonic phase (which ended, like, 5 years ago). The character in the characters just shines through so much it makes me happy every time I speak in their voices. (I do voice act my characters, and I am learning more about different tones and octaves when playing with my GGs. They are really helping me improve as a voice actor and an artist)
Now onto what you probably want to hear, Wink.
I honestly can't wait for the Nursery to come out, but I am a little scared about it, though. Most adoptable species I have been to always have at least one edit farmer, and I don't want to see that happen inside the GG community. I don't know how that can ever be prevented, though, but eh, it just makes me sad when people just use their characters for super edited babies and then they just give them away like they're trash. Another thing that I like but am afraid of is the DA system and ARPG. I am super excited for the ARPG, don't get me wrong, the only thing I am afraid of about it is the breeding/egg/rarity system thing. One thing that really brought me close to this species was the fact that you can go wild with edits, but on DA you can't, but you can have any element you want. I'm really afraid that edit farmers will swarm onto DeviantArt and use their GGs for eggs. I really don't know how to put it, I guess it might just be personal experience and preference, but I really like the CS system better than the DA system (please don't be mad at me o~o).
Now for what I am looking forward to seeing.
I am really looking forward to seeing more adopts like the scroll thing you did for the spring event, but instead of having to look for the adopt in artists posts, they can just be adopts in boxes, or behind a cover. I don't really know why I want to see something like this, I guess I just like to test my luck.
Another thing that will be interesting would be a suggestion box, like people can drop off suggestions, and an artist can make a gg out of the suggestions (but not all the time, though, the artists can just use the suggestion box if they are out of ideas).
Orphans. I would like to see some orphans.
I would also like to see a Goblin Gator based off of a goblin and an alligator, I think that would be very interesting and fun to look at, haha. ovo
Seeing some more elements would also be interesting, like an ice element or frost or something like that. (Or would that go under the water element category?) Maybe a metal element, too? Like they could have the power to
melt steel beams contort and twist metal, maybe.
Extras:
"I am your Queen. I am not a mean one, but a mother to all of my servants. Don't test me, and I shall be your friend. Test me, and I shall be your end."

Terura paced slowly across her small stage, her six eyes gazing at the gathering of cloaked creatures; Fellow Goblin Gators, creatures of the under realm, and beings of unimaginable appearance were all there.
A long smile crept up her forever lipless face as she studied her followers. They were all perfectly silent, just as she had requested they be earlier.
"Take my words to your hearts, my dear servants,"
Terura rubbed her stubs together and then gently coursed them down her horns as she spoke,
"I love you all. Be good to me and your fellow brethren, and I will return your kindness in favors. Be diligent and trustworthy, for you will be treated by how you treat others."
She closed the lower two sets of her eyes and looked at the crowd with her set remaining open,
"Repeat after me:
We are not as bad as we look. We are who we make ourselves and how we treat others.
Pitchforks and blazing fires do not scare me.
I welcome disgusted stares and rude questions, so I may answer them to allow others to know that we exist, and that we are individuals as well.
If people want me to be a monster, they must look elsewhere; for I refuse to allow others words to get to me.
Nobody can make me who I am but me."
The gathering repeated her words in unison.
Terura let her smile fade.
"Who here has disobeyed these words?"
The crowd was once again silent. The cloaked figures began eyeing each other nervously; who had broken their Queen's sacred words? Than, through the sheer quiet, a voice shyly peeped,
"I h-have, your greatness."
The beastly gator opened all of her eyes and searched the crowd, looking for the brave soul who had spoken up.
"And who may you be, breaker of my law? Come forth to me so I may look you in the eyes."
The crowd began to split as a black, white, and red, poorly nourished goblin scrambled to the front of their peers.
"D-Desmaloid Scissorclaws, your greatness."
Terura smirked as she locked eyes on Desmaloid. Raising her arm up, she gestured for the poor soul to come up onto the stage with her. As he did so, the queenly being put her stubs on his shoulders.
"Why have you broken my law, dearest Desmaloid?"
Desmaloid quivered anxiously, not knowing how to explain his problem to his queen. After a short minute of silence, the gator spoke:
"I cannot control my anger, y-your highness. Everyone I meet seems to be so afraid of me, t-they won't even speak to me. I try my best to start up a nice c-conversation, but... they never answer. I can't control myself when people don't answer."
The queen stood there for a moment, studying the misfortuned beast. She began to pace slowly back and forth across the stage, keeping her middle set of eyes locked on the problematic boy. Soon enough, she stopped pacing right next to Mr. Scissorclaws and placed her right stub on his shoulder. She noticed how red his eyes were getting over the silence.
"Now, my dearest Desmaloid, look into my eyes and become lost in them. Open up your mind to my words,"
The gg did as he was told, staring deep into her eyes he became dull; the whole world around him became fogged over and musty.
"Now,"
Terura began, licking her orange tongue over her huge, yellow, pointed teeth,
"Think of sweet things, like chocolates and sugar breads. Imagine the voices of you and your friends. Hold up your hands and drink the poison from your invisible cup, grow silent and at peace, become who you want to become."
Desmaloid lifted his hands up to his mouth and began to sip the air, he then fell to the ground and groaned in pain. His whole body ached, but he felt oddly... better. Calm. Shakily standing up, he looked at the horrendous goblin and smiled shyly,
"I-I, I feel wonderful. Thank you, your highness."
Terura helped him off of the stage and looked at her followers, her eyes stinging as venom dripped down her face from her eyes.
"Those who test me, will drink the poison of their mind. My psychic and venom blend to corrode your brain to make you see and think just fine. I am a Queen of just doings, take that to heart. Remember my venom helps you out of the dark."
The gathering bowed in unison and began to disperse after she had finished speaking.
"My followers will met up here again in three months. New venom to make, new voices to take, and new problems to help fix will all be created tomorrow."
How does Terura use her powers?
Terura has the ability to use the elements of both psychic and venom. With these powers, she unlocks other GGs' minds so she can hypnotize them into doing what she says; but if they still won't obey her power, she fuses her venom ability into her psychic to poison the minds of the poor souls that look her directly in the eyes when she is upset. As the poison seeps through the other gg's brain, they can't help but do as they are told.
Terura doesn't use both of her powers at once often, though, as it causes her tears to turn into poison, which burns her eyes and face.
So gentle, so fierce, I am the goddess of The Distortion, my dear...
Terura is the self proclaimed goddess of a dimension dubbed simply as, "The Distortion".
Her realm can only be accessed once every three months in a clearing between three lightning burnt red oak trees located in a dying forest called, " Shamble Woods".
During that day in the three month period, the moon will shine directly in the center of the three red oaks, causing a strange moss to grow from the dying grass.
If anyone is brave enough to step into the moss, they will find themselves falling through the sky of an eternally dark and terrifying world.
Preachers:Terura does have a very vast and interesting following/gathering, but there are a few other goblins in her crowd that worship her, one being a very trustworthy and loyal preacher of hers, and the other is a preacher in training because they cannot yet "control their demons".
~
䫏 Qī~~~ Qī is Terura's favorite and most loyal preacher she has. Qī isn't afraid of their demons anymore, in fact, they actually beat up and show their demons whose boss; which Terura highly applauds and congratulates.
But there are some problems with her favorite goblin gator follower, though. They are currently residing in the infamous, 'WillowPeak Asylum', and whenever they try to teach Terura's messages of self acceptance, power, and love, they are always ignored and ruled off as completely insane.
Terura is currently devising a plan to have him peacefully expelled from the institution, but knowing Qī's behavior and circumstances, she is probably going to have to either 'get rid' of the staff members and break them out, or forcefully 'put her word' into the staff members' minds (brainwash them with her elements).
~
Desmaloid "Edward" Scissorclaws~~~ Edward still has a long way to go, according to Terura. He isn't worthy enough to be considered, "a high preacher", like Qī, and is currently just a follower of the Queen's message. Edward still cowers under his demons and lets them take control of him in certain incidents, which Terura greatly frowns upon.
Every three months, Terura will ask her gathering if any one of her followers had broken her sacred laws, and Desmaloid is normally the only one who manages to speak up and admit his flaws; Terura greatly encourages this, and commends him for his honesty, but she always has to punish him for his acts, thus leading her to use both of her powers to force Edward to push down his demons.
