"Sadly, we have not seen many others venture within the forest for a long time now, and so many are not as willing to be friends with you as I am..."

"Me? I am called "Old Man Crocolily". I don't really have a traditional name... I am the guy-to-go-to for info on Gloomy Forest, I suppose! We crocs do not really have a set leader figure in these woods, but many of my younger family members come to me for advice."

"My family? Their a bit shy around humans! I am the only one who does not have any fear, for I know that you, at least, come with no harm in your mind. I know you like to help and tame crocolilies. Some of my family members are interested in traveling... maybe if they see you talking to me often enough you can befriend one?"

Welcome to "The Stream"!

You can find it labeled on the map here with a little purple flag next to it.

Gloomy Forest Stream is home to a group of crocolilies who refer to each other as "the family", despite the fact not all are directly related. "Old Man Crocolily" is the eldest known to the group, and is revered as a great story teller and knows a lot about Gloomy Forest and Island Legends. It is unknown how he learned to speak to humans. He is by far one of the most intelligent crocolilies and his exact age is unknown. Due to how peaceful he is, you have nothing to fear from him!

Everyday, your allowed to ask Old Man Crocolily questions about the island or the species.
Please be certain to be polite and follow all crocolily and cs rules when posting questions!

Your also permitted to ask him to tell you old crocolily legends!

Sometimes, Old Man Croc will have a request for you, and you'll get a reward for helping him.

Besides this, your all, if your apart of the purple team, to be entered into a raffle to win 1 of four crocolilies from this region. They are not very well tamed yet, but are curious younger crocs who want to explore the world. If they see you around Old Man Croc, who they all respect, maybe they'll like you?

"Why not? Here is one. The Story of Man-Kimber and Grah the Great."

"According to our legends, dating back many generations, once there was a villainous tyrant among our people. He called himself Grah the Great, and he was merciless. This was before the Kimber people arrived, so there are no human records of his reign."

"Grah was said to be from the mouth of the great volcano, and could breathe fire like a dragon. He made our normally peaceful race fight against one another, so his might frightened many into submission. Many began to form alliances and train to fight each other, and this would go on for many seasons."

"Then, one day, a strange creature arrived. Unknown to the crocolilies of the time, it was the first Kimber-man. The crocolilies feared him as they watched how he hunted, but all felt that he could, maybe, be a match for Grah. He seemed smarter than Grah, at least, and so they hatched a plan to get them to fight. They figured that, if the strange creature was more dangerous than Grah, Grah would finish him. If not, Grah's reign would be over, and maybe they could live peacefully with the strange creature. For that was the thinking in those hard days..."

"They got the man, whom, being the father of the Kimber race has always been called Man-Kimber henceforth, to fight Grah, by challenging him. 'It would be dishonorable to not agree. You must prove you are a match to Grah, to show you are stronger, and deserve our trust. He is a tyrant and if you help us, we'll teach you ho to live on our island.'"

"It took awhile, at first, but Kimber did agree. So, the scheming crocolilies told Grah of the man-Kimber, and spoke about him as if he, surely, could easily defeat the likes of Grah. Knowing Grah's vanity, they exaggerated the man-Kimber, and so Grah grew angry, and felt he needed to proove himself."

"Man-Kimber, thus, was making his own plans. He dug a great ditch, what men call a 'trap' for hunting, and he covered the ditch in soft grasses and twigs. He then awaited on the other side for Grah, as was planned. For you see, Man-Kimber was not a killer, unless he needed to hunt for food. He would not kill an intelligent creature, but he also knew that Grah was a tyrant. So his plan was to imprison him instead of kill him."

"Grah came down from his volcano in a rage, and the whole forest echoed with the sound of his stomping feet, for he was also as large as a dragon. He marched straight towards Man-Kimber, and, not thinking twice about the odd batch of soft grass and twig, went right into the trap, and found himself stuck in a ditch in the ground."

"An odd thing then happened. He had caused such a commotion coming down his volcano, that an eruption began - that is show the story goes, anyways - and while everyone took cover, including Man-Kimber, Grah was stuck. However, he as immune to the lava, due to his thick scales and the fact it was, after all, according to myth, his birthplace. So, the rolling lava came downhill upon him, and so much of it gathered it became a new mountain."

"Since then, the old volcano has been dormant. However, the new mountain above Grah, as the story goes, still had him inside. He is still there toady, in a constant fury, and on the 100th anniversary of Man-Kimber's capturing him, the volcano of Grah always erupts!"

How did you learn to talk to humans?

"Once, along time ago, I cannot say when, I was captured by a very wise person of your kind. He taught me all I know. It was so long ago I scarcely remember it all..."

"However, many still doubt this fact. There are few records of a person arriving around my birth... I have my own theories as to who he was. Feel free to disagree, you can believe what you believe."

"Hm, here is one... A popular, if a bit silly myth."

"A deathly sickness once swept Liland, killing all life, including crocs and Kimbers. During this time, two crocolilies are said to have fallen deeply in love with each other. They were known as Rock and Flower."

"Rock and Flower were to announce their mateship when Flower caught the illness. Here is, perhaps, the oddest part. It was said Rock heard news that she had already died, and was so miserable he cried for days. This flow of tears created a lake, now known as Heartlake. However, she was not really dead, and so he looked for a cure for her when he found out."

"It was soon discovered that the new lake's waters had healing properties, and so she was healed, and everyone lived happily..."

"It is, actually, possible that the cure for the illness could have been found around Heartlake. However, what it was in reality is unknown."
