The whisper in the woods. The eyes that watch behind thin birch trees. She is a quiet kalon compared to others of her species, enshrouded by the mysteries and voices deep in the hidden foliage. People gossip about her strange habits and tendencies, unsure of what to make of her. Yet what they know is nothing but folklore and superstition. Ginseng was named after the root that her mother favored during her gestation period, claiming that it was the root's mystical powers that gave her daughter such a unique perspective upon the world. In reality it was the small kalon's lack of sight that opened her senses to the bountiful expanses that lay before her.
Ginseng is a very knowledgeable kalon, aware of her surroundings in almost every situation. Contrasting to her deep intelligence however, is a great lack of social etiquette and social awareness. She does not understand the feeling of an awkward conversation and quite often drops them whilst in the middle of speaking. Most things will interest her if given context and information, an exception being curiosities in the woods that she stumbles upon daily and stores in her turtle shell pouch.
Her main accessory is comprised of tanned deer leather, beads, feathers, and a turtle shell. With all of these items she and her mother were able to craft a convenient and sturdy pouch that was able to hold small objects. The curiosities contained are changed almost weekly if not daily, varying from skulls to rocks to pawfuls of leaves. Decorating the center of the pouch is a turtle skull from the creature who originally owned the shell.
you know
you can't really
do the
impossible
but
at least
you can
do
what's best
"I was on the deck of the boat when it all happened.
Now, imagine your best friend hanging off the side of her private boat, she was on a lake with nobody else around,
nobody to hope for, just me and her. You see, i'm a bid shorted and scrawnier than her, because of this, i could not
simply pull her up myself while she was hanging off the railing. I was so shocked and tired that i told myself,
"you can't do it, she's going to die by herself, it's just her time.". As you can tell, i was about to walk away
when a shark jumped out to grab her. To this day on i feel alot of guilt and need to wear the anchor to that ship
for what horrible thing i had done. I want to tell everyone that i was sorry, even if she or i didn't know them, i want them to
see that i've went through something tragic. I was not able to go back into the water to save her at all.." She values others lives very much, and she wants to get to know every kalon there is. She believes that if she lost one, she can save 2 more.
