"Eiji-san!" I screamed, waddling slugishly through our frigid apartment. I pulled my
rainbow colored sweater closer around me, my long legs peeking out from under my too-
short jeans. I had woken up completely frozen, as if my lovely roommate had decided
sometime during the night that the best way to live was as frozen as sushi forgotten in
the back of a deli freezer.
"Eiji! Wake up!" I kicked open his door and shuffled in, crossing my arms and glaring at
his sleeping figure. His dimly lit room glowed with the small amounts of light sneaking
through the closed blinds, and small fragments of snores escaped through the mountain
of blankets and quilts stuffed on top of him. I sighed and walked towards the bed.
And so I ripped off the blankets, throwing them aside and staring at small man, still
grumpy even in his sleep. Eiji flopped around like a fish before settling, opening one eye
to stare at me. "What do you want..." he mumbled.
"I want to know why my little grump decided to turn the apartment into the south pole
last night," I told him. Eiji shrugged and rolled over, pulling the pillow on top of his head.
I sighed again, yanking it off of him, throwing it at the small patch of bare wall next to
his bedroom door.
"Tomi... I hate you so much." Eiji groaned and sat up, rubbing his tired, slightly red face
with his hand. "Oh darling, you know you love me." I flicked my wrist and strutted out of
the room, laughing as his blaring and vulgar remarks boomed through the apartment. As
I got to the living room, crashing footsteps grew closer to me, thumping on the soft
carpet.
Arms pushed at my shoulders, and a leg tripped me. I was sent sprawling to the floor, my
arms flailing and my hair making a small whoosh as I rushed towards the ground.
The attacker simply laughed, pinning me to the ground with my hands above my head. I
tried to wiggle my way out of the situation, but the attacker only put more of their
weight on my lower back. "Eiji..." I mumbled, turning my head to the resr of the room.
"I would love for that adorable booty of yours to stay there, but unfortunately I would
also like if I could get up and cuddle you."
I could feel Eiji blushing. Quite begrudgingly, he slid off of my back and sauntered into
the living room. I placed my palms on the floor, pushing myself up and standing in the
space. I looked to where Eiji had placed himself on the couch before waddling myself
over there. He was pursing his lips, staring at the small TV set on the ground in front of
him. I rolled my eyes, sitting next to him and throwing my arm around his waist.
"You alright, little grump?" Eiji nodded, laying his head on my shoulder. "Just kind of...
depressed. I'll be alright." I nodded, drawing small circles on his side. "Wanna just stay
here for today?" Eiji nodded again and pulled me down onto the couch with him, letting
me put my arms around him. I squeezed him tight to me, taking a whiff of his hair, which
always seemed to smell of fruit.
