About Rufus;
Meet ya girl Rufus, a smart honey with more than a little laziness in her. Still when she's not lazing about in the sun, this Zver is always on the move. No time to stop and chat, when she's on a mission. Living in only the busiest city in the world, she makes no attempts to stop for a break unless tempted and to her humans are the least tempting thing on this planet. It was said she was the pet of a rich bounty hunter after being discovered on the ship that crashed to Earth from Quartan 3. But they are nobody's pet and made that pretty clear when they escaped leaving the man in shambles and in need of a few bandages. What Rufus lacks in size she makes up for in bite and boy is her bite the worst. Step on her and you'll regret it, accident or not.

Though she does hold a soft spot for children at the very least. Human children, she's found, are a lot like her. Small and stepped on. She reacts to children in a more friendly manner than more humans and has no qualms about sitting around them or letting them pet her when she's got the time. But time is food and that's something she can't miss out on.

Little Miss Busy-body has got a lot on her plate as it is. Already under the heat of bounty hunter radar since she attacked her previous 'owner', she has to lie low around the city, fight with other, bigger and stronger Zvers for scraps and somehow get back to her pride, because ultimately that's her biggest wish.

As a munchkin in Quartan 3, she might not have been the best of the best at hunting or fighting and in fact was probably the most at risk of being picked off by a predator, but at least she was with her family. She'd give up a million pats or scraps if it meant she was with them again.

Hence why she's always so busy! The city is a big place and she's already so small, but she refuses to give up hope, no matter how many ankles she has to bite to get there.

Her past;
As stated before, she is a Quartan 3 born and raised Zver. Before she was considered the weakest but she had a bond quite close to the former leader of her pride. He truly saved her life. Born sickly, she was shunned by her mother and her siblings all of whom were healthier and not stunted as she. The former leader was faced with a dilemma. If her own mother wouldn't care for her then who could? He surely couldn't abandon her as he believed in never leaving one another behind. If he had to sacrifice then he would. The leader at that time had no mate as she had long past and thus no one to truly care for the child. So he took her in himself.

Such an act was unheard of, but it was done. Even against the advice of his eldest advisors, the leader went on. The old leader taught her and kept her well as best as he could, despite Quartan 3's harsh environment and young Meeshka who would later change her name to Rufus upon being captured, was a very happy Zver as she grew up. The leader thrived on her naivety and humor, discovering her to be the light of the bleakest situations.

Rufus never knew her mothers as a child and thus never recognized her, save for when she was belittling her behind the leader's back with her snickering children. It was only then that anyone realized how large her canines were when she, in a moment of blind anger got into a fight with the oldest, nearly snapping his tail in two. The dispute was quickly put to an end by the leader himself and he rounded on them both.

It wouldn't be till later on, nearing the first sightings of the Noch, that young Meeshka would be told of her leader's days growing numbered. Soon he would die but before he would, he would see to it that his pride be led by the young one. He had no children of his own and his council, his advisors were all old as well. They couldn't surely lead efficiently. He told her on the night of their capture by these strange alien beasts that she was to be leader in his place. This however was something she had not been prepared to learn.

But by then, they were already captured and he already died.

As a result of his dying wish that she become leader of their pride, Rufus tried to keep them together. Tried her best to keep her pride, something that a female Zver had ever done, but ultimately failed as her pride was torn apart and separated upon the crash. Many died and those who survived along with the other hundreds of Zvers were gone, scattered to the winds.

She, herself, struck by falling debris was knocked unconscious only to be discovered by scientists and was studied for her physical components. But soon as the rise of Bounty hunters rose, money was traded hands and she smuggled away to become what she learned later on was a pet. The very thought left her enraged to her very being, even more than being captured.

Who does she know;


Callisto encountered the smaller zver completely by accident. Living with an owner who is probably what would be considered a Zver ranger, Callisto had encountered the city for the first time. Her first meeting with Rufus was probably one of the worst. Or rather she nearly got her tail torn off by an angry zver because she almost stepped on her.

Needless to say the next time they met, in which Callisto was hiding away from Bounty Hunters and Violet was nowhere to be found, the taller of the two had been very careful not to ignite the smaller one's anger. Or her teeth. To Callisto, Rufus is terrifying and honestly the munchkin Zver does feel a tiny bit bad about snapping off on her for such a measly incident. When they met that second time, Rufus managed to apologize from before and tried to make amends to the wary Zver. They have a rather uneasy relationship at best and awkward at worst. Though Callisto does suppose she could forgive the incident as long as Rufus could forgive her as well.

After all, no one wants to worry about losing any ankles. Or tails.



Rufus meeting Kobi was something akin to a lion meeting an angry ram. It didn't go well. First not only did he fall on her, but he blamed her completely saying she should have "watched where she was going," and then began trotting away or trying to. Only he didn't get very far before he felt the all too tall-tale of sharp teeth on his leg. Needless to say Rufus's impression skills are through the roof. The two fought in a cloud of flying dust and snapping fangs before Rufus reluctantly let go, not wanting to get any more hurt than necessary. However it wouldn't be until later on that Rufus would have sworn she saw the dumb Zver around before.

As it turned out she did. Kobi was one of the Zvers from her home. He was from her pride!

It wasn't until she was alone and in her newest tire from the junkyard that she realized it. And of all the dumb luck, she had to remember him. These two have a hilarious enemy relationship, filled to the brim with banter and threats of violence. And if that wasn't enough, the idiot Kobi didn't even remember Quartan 3. Having suffered from a concussion from the crash, Kobi developed amnesia and can only remember bits and pieces but Rufus decided to keep him around, no matter how much of an idiot he seemed.

It was a bit of a tough decision because MAN OH MAN, did I ever love Eternal_Flame's and Rabbitheart's entries to where I had to drag a couple of guest judges over to take a look and help me out
