Short Story; ika ran up to her mother, flowers in paws. "look mommy," she said, squealing. "the daisies you told me about!" ika's mother looked down at her daughter with a calm smile. "would you like me to show you how to make a daisy chain?" ika bounced around in delight. "yes, yes!" her mother sat down and began to braid the daisy stems together. "like this," she quietly murmured, ika staring in awe. she put the small daisy chain on ika's head and the kit began to squeal.

now ika makes flower crowns for everyone, teaching them how to make them the way her mother did. it's the best way to remember her kind and patient mother.

"No one's opinion of who I am matters but mine. I am my own person. I make and find my own happiness and I don't have to depend on anyone.", her tight shoulders relaxed as her angry shouts slowly turned into a song. Her quiet mumbles turning to gurgling yips as she began to skip down the path, a wide smile on her face. "I'm Kaarli, and these little flowers are my witnesses. They know the work I've put into me. They can help me along the way. A reminder of what made me so unhappy about myself.", she smiled and quickly plucked the small white and blue flowers, lacing them together to fit around her big head.

A soft breeze carries faint sounds of the city through the window. Sigh. I smile, looking down. The flowers are dancing against the busy background. I feel like they're taking their time with distractions. "The flowers are dancing for us today," I turn my head to the bulk of the apartment, "I don't think they want us to leave, Dad."

Dad laughs as he picks up a box in the kitchen. "Stop laying on the windowsill and come help me load up. We gotta go real soon." I know.

"You've got it," I mumble. Can't we stay? The flowers' swaying captivates me again. Something taps my shoulder, Dad says it's time to go. Oh, I lost track of time. Dad's stepping out the door when I look back to the window.

Short Story; My mother and I own a honey farm that's been passed down for generations. Our livelihood is dependent on the bees, and the bees are dependent on the flowers. Every week we take jars of our honey to the local farmers market, this profit is our main source of income. We can usually get by with the supply we've stored for the winter, but when the weather gets bad and the market rarely opens, we sometimes wonder if we'll make it to spring. I love flowers because I know that when the snow melts and the first buds bloom, we'll be okay. When February passes and the warmth of March spreads through the farm, I check the flower bed bellow my window every morning. When the Forget-me-not's greet me, I breath easy.

Courtney was tired of raging over her art, she kept trying to get better and better... It only seemed as if she got worse. Months of trying to improve, nothing really changed. She felt as if she wasn't even able to draw. She was giving up, throwing away her sketchbook into the trash. Courtney always wanted to be one of those artists who's art would make everyone's jaw drop of amazement. She wasn't even close to that, people would just laugh. Going outside to take out the trash, Courtney saw something... A flower? The petals were the prettiest. An idea popped out of Courtney's head, she rushed back inside, grabbing a pencil and opening her sketchbook. She looked out the window and drew the plant, showing every little flaw and detail it had. It was perfect. Courtney knew what she was good at drawing, thanks to a small, little flower.
