As you can probably tell, this isn't finished. I basically realized there was no way I could get this to look the way I want and still have time for a well developed form so I'm going to leave it the way it is. This is the base design flats + lines, the most time consuming part is painting it to look like metal which is the part I've skipped. On the left hind leg, I have finished the lighting/effects to hopefully give you a good idea of what this would look like finished. (there's also some minimal work on the helmet)

With that being said, I apologize that I was't able to fully finish my armor and hope that you at least like what you see.

Takanon's armor is all plate armor. It has two layers, a base layer of a copper and steel alloy and a thinner "gilding" of an alloy of copper and gold. (yes gold is probably one of the worst materials to make amor out of being both heavy and soft. Does Takanon care? No. He thinks it looks good) I assume that LOC do not need to wear additional padding underneath their armor since their fur can provide sufficient padding.

His helmet is made as a tribute to Aries the god of war, styled to resemble the head of a ram. The fangs at the bottom serve as both decoration and weapons, cutting into his opponents. Similarly, his claws are fitted with razor sharp coverings, designed to both aid in battle and protect his claws. Slits in his helmet allow him to see, without allowing his opponents to slash at his eyes. The plates in his armor are held together with leather covered "chain mail" straps. His armor is also covered in spikes that gorge enemies slashing at him. Since his armor is very thick, it is extremely heavy.

Personality:

Due to his lack of interest in others, it would be difficult to find a creature who truly knows Takanon. Sure, if you were to ask you'd recieve answers like narcissistic, fearless, overconfident, powerful, and arrogant, but none could lay claim to truly knowing him, least of all Takanon himself.

All of the traits listed are true. It would be a sad day when you found a creature more arrogant and self-obsessed. Takanon is strong. Despite being a fighter, he wears armor that rivals the weight of that of some tanks. He's also capable of moving surprisingly fast and attacking surprisingly viciously for one so weighed down. Yet for all his strength, he still overestimates his own abilities, leading to situations which he cannot handle. That combined with the fact that he is so vain, his armor contains an alloy of gold, is sure to be his downfall.

Not that he's afraid of it. Takanon was born, and will die a warrior. Simply put, not only is he not afraid of death, Takanon is totally uncaring about it. He gives no mercy to his enemies and barely mourns his fallen comrades. Perhaps it's because of his elemental affinity, which is simulatously his strongest and weakest point. Though it can get him out of tight situations, it also causes him to be rash, often choosing a flashy and dramatic show of ability in lieu of a simple physical attack.

Some will often operate under the delusion that Takanon is a "tsundere" believing that his cold exterior is simple an act, and that he'll warm up as you get to know him. Like any other being, Takanon does get nicer as you get to know him, but those expecting an anime-style personality change will be sorely disappointed. He sadly remains the same self-obsessed and overconfident warrior. That is not to say he is not capable of goodness. If Takanon takes a liking to you, he will be loyal to the end, those who have gained his trust consider it a great gift. However, his jaded view of the world causes him to never even get the chance to know most he encounters.

Armor Design:

Akri's armor is made form the ribcage and skull of a Taxon. It is adorned with strings of beads and plates of metal. There are two small jars of teeth hanging among them. They hold his baby teeth, the only keepsake from his first pride. There are two additional bones tied to the Taxon skull as well as two Taxon horns attached to his tail.

A Bit About Akri:

Akri was raised in a very small pride, living in the Unknown Lands. This pride valued solid, naturally colored pelts above all else, and thus, treated Akri as an outcast at best, and a scapegoat at worst. Before he could fully walk he was cast aside by his parents. His fur was alien to them, with its stripes and speckles and fear of the unknown eventually transformed into hate. As a cub, Akri learned quickly how to survive; how to attack before being hurt, and not let anyone close to him. When he was nearing adolescence a new lion came upon their small pride in the Unknown Lands and slowly befriended him. He was the first and only friend that Akri ever had, and it was his sudden death that taught Akri the horror of his element. This event led to his banishment from his family. He wandered until he came to the Home Planet and eventually became a part of the pride there.

He still lives by these values, even in his new pride, under Ethereal. The only lions that he lets past his defenses are cubs. They are the most precious creatures in the universe to Akri because of their naive love and trust, things that he himself never had. It amazes him every time that they somehow crawl past the barriers he puts up around himself, and find places in his heart, every one. It is his wish to someday have cubs of his own, although he balks at the idea that any female would consent to be his mate.

Akri holds an intese loathing for his beautifully striped hide. He believes that his element of Death is well-suited to his demon-like appearance. Even as he sees the brighter and more fabulous lions in Ethereal's pride, he still holds his parents words close to his heart, thinking himself ugly. It will take a very special female to make him believe in his self-worth. Until then, he prides himself on the only thing he was ever good at; his fighting. Akri became a Fighter Base Warrior because fighting was all that he knew. Underneath his skin simmers an unseen rage that he only lets loose in a fight. Unlike those of his birth pride, he only fights those equal to him in power and ability and never punishes others for being weaker or different. He actually prefers not to use his element in battle because he thinks that it is an unfair advantage. He is also still frightened of his power and keeps himself secluded from the rest of the pride out of fear of hurting anyone. It is the cubs that he fears hurting the most, and yet they are the only ones who seem to truly like him.

Although on the outside Akri may look imposing, and occasionally vicious and cruel, on the inside he holds the heart of a scarred cub in need of a friend.


(I hope that you have enjoyed my form and thanks so much for reading! I had hoped to have colored in and re-lined the above sketch of Akri in his armor but I had a family emergency so my drawing was put on hold. This is actually the first time I have ever drawn/designed armor and I really love how it came out. I've only ever drawn one other lion, but am very interested in drawing them to a greater extent. The LOC community looks so inviting and fun and there is so many collabs and art pieces on your fan club! I hope to one day be a part of it, even if that day is not today c: )
