Drew’s exactly the type of kid you'd expect to find entering the 'do not enter' areas, climbing that public fountain or spray painting that blank concrete wall- with washable paint, of course. Drew doesn't do anything if it'll cause harm to others in any way- but there's a wide gap between 'harming' and 'annoying', and drew manipulates that gap to the limit.
If you catch him, drew will never give any of his fellow mischief-makers away. After all, if your cohorts can't trust you, then who else in this world will? Drew’s especially good at lying his way out of situations, probably using that brain of his for all the wrong reasons. He’ll also use that brain to think of new ways to be daring without harming- so in his eyes, that balances out.
But this is Drew with his band-aid on. Although all these are indeed Drew’s qualities, drew believes that these are actually his band-aid’s qualities. He believes that without his band-aid, he is nothing, so if it falls off, he'll suddenly become an introverted, shy kind of kid. He hasn't got any sort of disease or disorder; his mind has just associated his band-aid with his courage, and until someone finds a close enough replicate for it, Drew can be found locked in his room or demurely helping his mom around the house
band-aid? wrote:Drew watched the blood trickle down his muzzle, feeling tears drip down his face as the other kids ran ahead. All he could see was the red, and panic began to set in as more, and more, and more of the stuff came flowing out.
Suddenly, it stopped. Drew peered up to see his mom smiling down at him, a Band-Aid-wrapper in her hand. 'There you go.' she smiled. 'You're okay now.'
Drew looked in wonder at this miraculous thing on his nose. It was amazing! It had made him invincible!
smiling back at his mom, he ran to catch up with his friends

So. A four year old Drew experiences the powers of the band-aid. sure, he's less fantastical now, but that first-time elation has made its mark on him, and he now believes his band-aid is a sort of a lucky charm. He thinks it gives him his outgoing personality, but the fact is that it is always inside him- the bandaid just brought it out when he was young. Now Drew just needs to learn to keep it out without his band-aid- which is something he's yet to find out how to do.

worst fear wrote:This is a bit of an obvious one: losing his band-aid. Sure, he's used to it falling off now and then, but his actual fear is that he'll lose his confidence with it- and won't be able to get it back. This is what he worries about when he loses his Band-Aid, but maybe he should be trying to find his courage without it. At the moment he's still a little too nervous to do that- he doesn't want anyone to see what he 'actually' is like, which is why he'll freak out if anyone but his mom comes in his room while he's lost a band-bid.
Yeah, his friends DO get suspicious when he's holed in his house- but usually it's not for long; drew keeps an emergency stash of band-aids under his bed. It’s only when the stash runs out that he's in trouble, as his mom often forgets to buy them.

biggest adventure?Drew peered up at the statue. It was taller than anything he’d attempted to climb before, but hey, there’s a first time for anything, right?
He was alone in the plaza, just him and the leaves who were already swirling up the statue, almost teasing him at how fast they could get up there. He’d soon show them.
With a touch to his band-aid for luck, Drew grasped the statue’s regal-looking foot and began to climb. He used whatever he could find for hand and foot holds- the man’s clothes, his pockets, his hands, probably not being very respectful to whatever important founder guy this statue represented.
As he reached out to grab the usefully long nose, Drew felt a sudden rush of air on his muzzle. His band-aid! It had fallen!
It’s amazing how fast Drew can go from ‘brave’ mode into full-out ‘panic’ mode, but as he frantically felt his nose he realized a bit was still stuck on. As fast as his heart had sped up, it slowed right down again as Drew patted his band-aid firmly down.
And realized he was now hanging from one arm about ten feet in the air.
Weirdly he was less freaked out then he was when he’d though he lost his band-aid, but after all, that was his source of courage. With it, he was basically invincible.
Stretching his other arm to the absolute limit, he finally felt the guy’s lumpy nose under his paw. It was funny- he’d never been so happy to grab a person’s nose, real or not.
With a final heave, Drew scrambled onto the statue’s head. Thankfully, this guy had hair. If he’d been bald, gripping it would have been near impossible. Nearly. He could do anything with his band-aid on.
He looked out in awe over the streets. Sure, all he could really see were houses and pavements and the occasional green spot, but it was that feeling of being so high up, so high you could feel the wind even on a calm day. The leaves were still up here, and Drew liked the thought that they were laughing with him now, not at him.
This is how birds must feel, he thought. Looking at everyone living their normal everyday life and being free from it all, being able to just fly away when things got too boring. Tilting his head up, he could see a few of them now, dancing across the sky in random yet beautiful patterns. Yes. He would do that too one day. One day he’d be so high no one could ever bring him down.
He'd do it with his band-aid, of course.
Touching it once again, just so it felt this amazing feeling too, he let out a whoop of victory.
And he liked the thought that the birds whooped with him.

relationships?
Hestia wrote:Drew's a troublemaker, alright. Don't let that cute face fool you! Or the lies. He can try to lie to me, but I see right through you, honey. I guess I'm a little like a big sister to him, but if you ask the cheeky rascal he'll say I act like 'a cowardly old woman'. Cowardly? Has he ever watched Madagascar?
Yeah, I do worry about him. Not because he does stupid things, but because he seems so attached to the band-aid of his. I get it; sometimes you do need something physical to comfort you, but I hope one day Drew realizes that he isn't the type of person who needs it all the time
Carmen wrote:Drew's pretty cool as far as little kids go! He's way braver than some adult plumies, haha. Sometimes even braver than me! He's awesome to hang out with, but I really don't get the Band-Aid thing. Drew's no fun in depressed mode- he won't even talk to me! That's probably what worries me the most, I guess. And I'd say I'm more like a big brother to him that a sister, seeing as Hestia seems to worry... way too much.
