full name;; Winter Rapids
call name;; Osvuso
kennel;; Emu Lane Kennels
harness colour;; Pale blue with a cream center stripe
age;; 2
gender;; Male
favorite memory;;
Osvuso wrote:When I was just three months old, my musher and their team were on a run, me in the sled with another pup. We were running past a dark river, and it was there we stopped and set up camp for the night, as there was no way to cross for many more miles. My musher started a small fire to cook, as they always did, and began to tell a story aloud. It was to no in particular, but I enjoyed listening as they talked.
"It was in these woods I found my first sled dog," Yji began. "He was a solid black pup, no more than six months old. He was struggling against the currents in the water, losing the battle quickly." Yji paused, glancing out over the dark river. "He followed me home after I pulled him out and dried him off. He went on to be the greatest dog I've ever had, and it was at this very spot I found him."
Yji reached out and ruffled Osvuso's fur. "You might know that dog, Osvuso. He was Spring Rapids, your father. He fathered many great sled dogs in his time, but you were his last pup."
With that, Yji fell silent, and Osvuso sat in thought for a while, thinking about the large paws he was expected to fill.

owner;; misswarrior123
full name;; It's Called Team Work
call name;; Orca
kennel;; Red Robin Kennels
harness colour;; blue like her eyes?
age;; 6 years
gender;; Female
memory;; Orca's favorite memory, isn't her first time going out and pulling a sled like most dogs, but when she was little. She was only just a pup, when she was introduced to her favorite animal. It was noon and she was let outside with her litter mates and her dam into the backyard. Orca goofed around with her siblings, like most pups do. After a while when the others were starting to get tired and it was starting to get dark. When they were heading back inside, there was a slight rustling in the bushes outlining the backyard. Being as curious as she was, she decided to go see what it was. She sniffed all along the ground right until her head was in the bush, and she was face to face with a squirrel. At first she freaked out, scooting backwards, but soon found herself up at the bush again. She squirrel darted out of the bush across the yard. Orca was filled with a sudden urge to chase it, so that's what she did. Since then, chasing squirrels has been her favorite thing to do. She often likes chasing squirrels with
Dart.

owner;; DarkestWerewolf
full name;; Secrets of the Forest
call name;; Pyper
kennel;; Wild's Calling Kennel
harness colour;; Blue camo if possible.
age;; 6 years old
gender;; Female
favourite memory;;
Pyper was out with her owner in the winter once. She wanted to go take some photos for a project and decided to bring Pyper along. As they traipsed through the thick snow, they heard the distant cries of what sounded like a large herbivore. Pyper was quickly put back on leash as they headed towards the sound. As they hid behind the trees and piles of snow, they could see a pack of wolves taking down a female elk that had strayed from her herd.
Pyper's owner quickly got down to taking photos of the brutal scene that unraveled a distance from them. She stared in amazement and fright as the elk was finally taken down by the wolves. Once her owner was satisfied, she and Pyper quietly headed back home where they took a look at the photos taken.
Needless to say, it was a her most significant and favourite memory that will forever be embedded in her mind.

age;; 04 years
gender;; female
favourite memory;; it was one of those nights, the air sticky with the promise of thunder that wouldn't come until well after the dawn broke the following morning. in one of the kennel stalls of saint ottlerlake kennels, one the newest arrivals was working her teeth against the sliding bolt. she'd been watching the humans for the past few days since she'd left her littermates and mother behind. they'd lean over the top part of the door when it was open and slid it back. it really wasn't that hard - and it wasn't like she'd need the top part open either.
shaking her head with a soft growl, the metal gripped clumsily between her teeth, she walked backwards against the side of the door until she heard the sound she'd been waiting for. curly tail wagging wildly, she jumped up at the bottom section of the door and watched as it swung outwards. the small pup's heart sounded wildly in her ears as she paused, two paws edged over the doorway to her kennel, expecting her owner to come in any second and find that she'd opened it. but no human entered and the only sounds were that of her fellow canines, some twitching, yapping and growling as they slept and a few others pacing and whining at the sense of the oncoming storm.
it was much easier to sneak outside the entire kennel building than her own comfy stall; she was small enough to squeeze through the cat flap with just a little wiggle-work. her entire body shook with excitement as she stood out in the snow, nose twitching. she stuck around the outside of the kennel at first, following the twisting trails of the cats until she came face to face with a big, angry white-and-black scarred tom who was less than impressed with an inquisitive pup trying to jump up onto the stack of boxes after him, and smacked her on the nose for her trouble.
wrinkling her nose - thankfully the tom had kept his claws sheathed - she decided to try the forest that stretched behind the kennels for interesting scents. occasionally stumbling over tree roots covered by the snow drift, she found there were plenty of scents crossing over the snow that had fallen freshly that morning. as she took a long sniff a barn ow suddenly swooped overhead, just missing the fat little field mouse it had been eyeing for quite some time, causing the young pup to yelp and jump.
sneezing indignantly, the pup turned back to the matter at hand; which scent should she follow?
breathing in deeply, she noticed one musty scent she'd never smelled before. tail wagging once more, she set off at a quick trot; nose close to the snow. the trail twisted and turned but she was quite certain she'd be able to find her way back and at some point it had began to sleet but she barely felt it; she was getting closer, she found feel it.
the trail ended in front of a hole at the bottom of a big oak tree.
lycaon wrinkled her nose again at the strength of the smell but pressed forward out of curiosity. a head popped out of the hole. it had a dark reddish-brown pelt and a pair of darkly-coloured bright eyes peered out of a narrow face, topped with a pair of furry ears. it was joined by another. and then another. eventually five furry faces peered back out at her.
they reminded lycaon of her littermates, both sold to separate homes than herself. there weren't any other puppies at her new home at the moment and she was feeling quite lonely; most of the younger dogs were being put true their paces and most of the older ones had no interest in her games. bouncing down into a playbow, she yapped at the fox cubs and jumped back and forth. four of the cubs stayed still, watching her from the safety of their home but one vixen, the smallest of the litter, jumped forwards. rolling with her new-found friend, the two wrestled as she had once done with her siblings. still a little hesitant, the others had joined in.
then the vixen appeared, a rabbit between her jaws.
she didn't seem at all impressed with the husky that one of her cubs had pinned to the ground. but before she could move to chase off the pup, a low, angry yowl sounded from the bushes from where the pup had come from. the mostly white tom that had smacked lycaon earlier appeared, ears flattened. caon popped up from beneath the little vixen and whimpered. the tom fixed her with his yellow eyes until she slunk over, tail between her legs. the tom smacked her as she passed him before following taking the lead. he herded her into the kennel, almost playfully swiping his paw through the air where she had just stood as she squeezed back in through the cat flap.
the tom was big, almost as big as her, and it was a bit of a squeeze for him as well - he much preferred to slip in through one of the upper windows - but he followed her through and walked her back to her own stall; jumping against it so it swung closed. lycaon waited in the middle of her kennel before padding quietly over and pressing her nose against it so it edged open. the tom, however, was still sitting outside and batted it closed again. lycaon seemed to think it was very fun game, creeping silently forward to push her nose against it and see how far she could get in open until the tom would launch himself at it.
eventually lycaon's yawns became more frequent and she slipped back into her bed, the tom still patiently keeping watch outside.
it was the start of a beautiful friendship.
(the tom eventually progressed to sleeping in her bed during the day, occasionally waking up to the pup sprawled out or curled up beside him, and would stalk away in faux-annoyance. now, the pair can often be found curled up together at all hours; the tom can even sometimes be found curled on top of her.)

It was the finals. My musher had me ready in the lead. I was the lead dog. If we didn't win this i was doomed. The race was about to begin. "READY....SET...." The starter said. Then there was a gun shot and everyone was off. Dashing down the slopes of the mountain. WIP

Now I have lots of memories, good and bad, but i've always had one that stuck out more than the rest. I was young, 2 years at most so still very much a wild child. It was late, the yellow circle had just hidden itself and the master had just turned off the lights inside. I was out sleeping in my box when I got a crazy idea to go find the yellow circle. It only showed up when it was bright outside, which was my favorite time and if I found it I could bring it back and it would be here forever. I slowly crept out of my box careful not to wake the other and began pulling against my collar. Bowing my head I worked it over my ears and off. My adrenaline shot through the roof as I realized that I was free. Nothing holding me back or stopping me from going and seeing the world, and with that thought I took off running in the yellow circle's direction. I knew how fast I was and how slow the yellow circle was so I figured it wouldn't be long and I'd find it.
Branches snapped under my paws, soared over downed trees, dodged the standing ones. My surroundings became a blur as I focused on the dimming light. Suddenly the ground beneath my paws was gone and I was skidding downwards. I caught myself on a root and took a moment to take in my surroundings. Light. Light everywhere! Light moving in pairs, light hanging off weird trees, light inside of human boxes, I had found it. I found where the yellow orb went! Scrambling down the steep side hill I took off running towards the lights. I remember the dirt feeling weird, it wasn't soft like usual and there wasn't any sticks or trees. It was hard, black, and had weird flat yellow plants that winded around the dirt in pairs. I was to fascinated by the light to pay to figure out why it was so different.
I reached the edge of the town of light. It was amazing, light everywhere. I took off trotting through to find a light I could bring home. I saw a pair of lights coming straight towards me, clearly curious. I stood my ground waiting to greet it but it was loud, like really loud. As it got closer it did some weird scream at me and began to grow. It was three times my size! Now I was big for my age but this beast was too big for me to think about taking on so I bolted away from it. It chased me until I turned and hid between two human boxes and then just walked past. I remember how weird its legs looked and how bad it smelled. Then I had yet another genius idea! "Alpine you are on a roll!" I said to myself as I hide myself away in a dark spot. The yellow circle made everything bright so if I hid where it was dark it would eventually come along to make it bright and then I would be able to grab it and take it home. It was so genius I could hardly believe I had come up with it myself!
I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Watching more of the light beast pass in front of my and as the human boxes went dark. I began to fear that the yellow circle wasn't going to show up when I noticed shadows on the walls. I could see the human boxes far away and the sky went from black to blue, the yellow circle was here finally! I carefully made my way to my paws making sure not to make a sound to scare it. Creeping forward at the edge of the dark I lunged out ready to grab it.. but it wasn't there. The black and yellow dirt was empty and only a couple humans outside. Confused I looked around still I saw the yellow circle again, hiding behind trees yet again! It wasn't gonna get away this time! Kicking myself into high gear I took off running towards it.
The yellow circle had been right behind me the entire time, hiding behind the trees I had raced through to catch it. It was a wise opponent but not fast at all. Pounding my paws into the ground as I scrambled up the steep side hills only slowly to catch my breath on the hard black and yellow dirt I found myself back in the forest I knew so well. I could see the yellow circle just ahead of me in the trees. Seemingly retracing my path from the night before I found myself right back where I started, the dog yard. Confused I looked around expecting to see it teasing me again when my master walked outside and gasped in relief seeing me standing by my box. Before I could take in the situation I had my collar back on and the yellow circle was high above me. It is still a fair opponent and one of the few to beat me in a race. I watch it when its bright trying to learn it's ways but it never changes its path or take a shortcut. Some days it wont show up and the sky will go gray and cry for its friend other days it will warm us and tell master to give us ice or a small pool to lay in. I have put my feud with it to rest and instead of demanding bright times from it I share them with it.
Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"
